Private label and own brand are among the fastest-growing spaces in European food retail – and a strategic growth priority for Ingredion. Retailers want cleaner labels, less sugar, more fibre and better nutrition, and our Texture & Healthful Solutions portfolio helps make that happen on shelf.
As
Manager (m/f/d), Commercial, Private Label, you will build Ingredion's relationships with Europe's leading retailers and connect them with their co-manufacturers and our sales teams to turn ideas into products. This is a strategic commercial role without a personal sales quota: you will define Ingredion's retailer partnership strategy and drive long-term, innovation-led growth across the private label channel. As a newly created role, it offers real scope to shape the position and grow with it.

What you will do:

  • Shape and deliver Ingredion’s private label growth agenda in Europe, driving the penetration of our Texture & Healthful Solutions portfolio with leading retailers and their manufacturing partners.
  • Define and lead Ingredion’s engagement with key retailers across Europe, building trusted, senior-level partnerships with category, private label, R&D and quality leaders.
  • Map and orchestrate each retailer’s co-manufacturer ecosystem – connecting retailers, co-manufacturers and Ingredion’s sales teams to convert opportunities into business growth.
  • Translate retailer insights and trends such as sugar reduction, fibre enrichment and clean label into solutions from our Texture & Healthful Solutions portfolio, partnering with technical, innovation and marketing teams on concepts, prototypes and demonstrations.
  • Initiate and steer retailer-led innovation projects from idea to launch, ensuring briefs are validated and projects move through the pipeline with the right partners.
  • Lead Ingredion’s presence in the European private label community, including industry events such as PLMA, and build partnerships with contract manufacturers and product development companies.
  • Own the retailer-linked innovation pipeline – measure impact, keep Salesforce data accurate and report progress to senior leadership.

What you will bring:

  • Significant commercial experience in the food and beverage industry, working for a retailer and/or a private label manufacturer – ideally both.
  • Experience in solution-forward commercial roles such as category management, business development or customer development.
  • An established network across category management, R&D/innovation and culinary teams at major private label retailers and manufacturers.
  • Strong strategic and commercial insight, with a track record of shaping and executing long-term strategies, delivering key projects and driving growth by inspiring and influencing stakeholders across a matrix organisation.
  • Proven ability to build relationships at senior level; C-suite exposure is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree, ideally in business, food science or culinary arts.
  • Fluent English; French and/or German are a plus.

Who you are:

  • Strategic – You anticipate market changes and set clear priorities.
  • Customer-centric – You understand and shape retailer needs and build deep, trusted relationships.
  • Results-driven – You turn strategy into measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Entrepreneurial and curious – You proactively seek out and grow your retailer network.
  • Culturally aware and mobile – You work confidently across Europe and travel regularly to customers and Ingredion sites.
  • Builder – You enjoy shaping something new rather than running an established territory.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
