The Opportunity

This position is an onsite opportunity in the Abbott Diabetes Care Division. We are helping people with Diabetes lead healthier, happier lives.   As a global leader in diabetes care, Abbott is constantly working to deliver the highest quality products and unwavering support to our customers.  Consistent and accurate glucose monitoring is the foundation of any diabetes management plan, so we’re committed to continuous improvement in the way patients and professionals measure, track and analyze glucose levels.

As Finance Manager, you will provide support and partnership for North America Commercial Finance with particular focus on actuals reporting and forecasting for Plan, rLBE and Confirm processes. The role requires coordination with the US Commercial & Finance teams, and the Canada Commercial & Finance teams to meet requirements & deadlines, as well as the management & enhancement of analytics to support understanding of submissions. The position requires strong people management, analytical, prioritization, and presentation skills as well as focus on process & identifying areas of efficiency. This is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Strengthen processes to help develop North America P&L & Balance Sheet forecasts for Plan, rLBE and Confirm
  • Ensures completeness and accuracy of financial submissions
  • Interpret financial results & recommend options based upon analysis of data & information
  • Identify meaningful analytics including trend analyses, which can be gleaned from rLBE submissions; presentation of these findings to North America Commercial senior leadership to aid strategic decision making and agree upon storyline of the submission
  • Preparation of LBE deck, working with stakeholders to prepare presentation to senior management.  Focus on simplifying submissions to make slides concise & executive-ready
  • Management and development of one financial analyst staff member
  • Operates with a significant amount of autonomy, focuses on delegation to staff to aid their development, and proactively navigates the division network to accomplish goals/tasks
  • Ad hoc requests from management (Division & Corporate functions including Tax, Treasury, Audit, Investor Relations etc.)
  • Ensure adherence to Abbott accounting policies and procedures (CFMs) and Sarbanes Oxley requirements 

Education and Experience You'll Bring
Required

  • BS or BA in Accounting, Finance, or Economics; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years financial analysis experience, and 2 plus years supervisory experience. Financial experience at country level a plus.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and administer financial information and control systems.
  • Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for integrated financial analysis and reporting.
  • Highly proficient in Excel.

Preferred

  • BA, CPA/CMA preferred

The base pay for this position is

$112,000.00 – $224,000.00
