The Role:
In this role, the Management Accountant, will be a commercial influence within the UK Finance team, bringing value-added insight into financial and operational measures. This position is crucial to supporting growth across two business areas and fostering collaboration across the finance team.
Main Responsibilities:
Financial Transaction Management
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger records accurately.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in financial entries.
Cash Flow Monitoring
- Oversee cash flow monitoring and forecasting to maintain company liquidity.
Tax Compliance
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of VAT returns for the UK and Ireland, adhering to local regulations.
Finance Partnering
- Provide financial insights and support to key business units to drive growth.
Product and Cost Analysis
- Conduct analysis on product pricing, profitability, and cost structures, providing recommendations for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, collaborating with department heads for accurate financial guidance.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare and review cost centre reports, providing department heads with timely financial data.
Inventory and Cost Management
- Maintain the Cost of Goods Sold master for distributor businesses and manage consignment and inventory provisions.
Contract and Terms Management
- Ensure all contract terms are up-to-date and stored on CRM and ERP systems.
Accounts Payable Management
- Provide occasional holiday cover for the Accounts Payable team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven experience in a financial role.
- Progress toward ICAEW or ACCA Accountancy qualification.
- Advanced Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills, with strong Excel and data management abilities. PowerBI skills are a plus.
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with experience in forecasting and integrated financial models.
