Role: Lloyds Technical Operations Manager

Location: UK – Remote
Reports to: Head of Technical Accounting
Type: Full-Time

Augment Risk is a global capital risk solutions intermediary, partnering with clients to structure and place innovative solutions. We specialize in bespoke risk transfer strategies, leveraging deep expertise across geographies and disciplines, including Structured Reinsurance, MGA, ILS, Legacy, Parametric, and Captives. Our trusted, boutique approach combines agility, transparency, and creative thinking to deliver optimal outcomes for our clients.

About the Role:

Augment Risk is seeking a Lloyds Technical Operations Manager to bring deep practical expertise in the processing, controls, and market practices required for Lloyds business. The role will be the internal authority on how Lloyds business should be set up, processed, monitored, and reconciled, while improving the experience for clients, markets, and internal deal teams.

Role purpose:

Own the operational integrity of Lloyds business across the placement and servicing lifecycle. Ensure that data, documentation, identifiers, processing steps, and financial flows are complete, accurate, and aligned with Lloyds market requirements.

Key responsibilities:

•  Serve as Augment's subject-matter expert for Lloyds market processing, including UMRs, premium and claims processing, market messaging, bureau practices, and related controls.

•  Review new Lloyds placements for operational readiness, identifying missing data, incomplete documentation, process dependencies, and execution risks before they create downstream issues.

•  Coordinate the accurate setup and ongoing servicing of Lloyds contracts, endorsements, premium movements, claims movements, and bordereaux.

•  Work closely with broking, Client Solutions, Wordings, Legal and Compliance, Technical Accounting, and external market counterparts to resolve exceptions quickly.

•  Own reconciliations, exception management, and root-cause analysis for Lloyds operational breaks; drive issues through to resolution.

•  Create clear process standards, checklists, controls, and training so Lloyds expertise is embedded in the organization rather than held by one individual.

•  Advise leadership on Lloyds operational implications of new products, client structures, delegated authorities, and systems changes.

•  Help design scalable workflows and data requirements that can be supported by automation without weakening market or regulatory discipline.

Required experience and capabilities:

•  7+ years of hands-on Lloyds market operations experience in a Lloyds broker, managing agent, coverholder, insurer, or specialist service provider.

•  Demonstrable knowledge of Lloyds processing and servicing workflows, including UMR administration, premium and claims movements, bordereaux, and settlement or reconciliation practices.

•  Strong command of operational controls, documentation requirements, and the practical relationships between broker, carrier, managing agent, and market processes.

•  Ability to investigate exceptions, distinguish root cause from symptom, and lead resolution across internal and external stakeholders.

•  Clear written communication and a pragmatic, service-oriented approach.

Preferred experience:

•  Experience spanning both broker and market-side operations.

•  Experience with delegated authority, binders, specialty reinsurance, or complex international programs.

•  Exposure to process automation, workflow design, data quality, or system implementation.

What success looks like:

•  Lloyds business is operationally ready at placement and processed consistently thereafter.

•  Exceptions are visible early, owned decisively, and resolved with fewer client or market escalations.

•  The business has durable Lloyds operating standards and less key-person dependency.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
