Team/Role Overview
The Legal Support Group Manager is accountable for managing a team tasked with implementing innovative technological solutions to facilitate processes within Markets Legal. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas both within and across functions and how they interact in order to achieve their respective objectives. The role holder will be required to apply an in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical solutions. Commercial awareness is a necessity. Accountable for delivery technological solutions to Markets Legal globally. Excellent communication skills required in order to coordinate across functions, often at a senior level. External communication (e.g. with potential vendors and technology providers) is also required. Accountable for the end results of technological solutions. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Involved in short- to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval.
What you’ll do
- Manage a team of legal support individuals responsible for the configuration, implementation, expansion and maintenance of legal technology solutions used globally for Markets Legal.
- Oversee various aspects of implementing technological solutions, including, but not limited to, user acceptance testing of potential technology solutions, and translating legal concepts into technology requirements.
- Communicate with stakeholders across product lines and functions to assess current processes, understand business objectives, and implement innovative solutions globally.
- Get involved in and oversee the departmental program management and strategic initiatives related to technology solutions.
- Provide direct support to the leadership of the Processes, Risk, Innovation and Strategy for Markets Legal (PRISM) team.
- Work with Product Counsel, Regulatory Counsel, Global Legal Services, Technology, and other stakeholders to identify and efficiently address areas of improvement
What we’ll need from you
- Relevant work experience, prior experience in legal technology is preferred.
- Significant experience in implementing technological solutions and transformation projects from start to finish.
- Strong familiarity with existing Legal processes, technology and documentation.
- A belief in the role and impact of emerging AI technology and experience with contract life cycle management tools, contract generation, and data extraction technology including NLP and LLM.
- Knowledge of Cloud based technologies, Jira, SQL database management, Microsoft Excel, macros, and Visio.
- To exhibit confidence and agility in challenging times and create an environment where people hold themselves to the highest ethical standards
- Excellent interpersonal and project management skills, must be skilled in Agile Methodology.
- Ability to interact and communicate effectively with Senior management.
- Must possess the ability to work with confidential information with the appropriate care and discretion, and the ability to promote collaboration within and across functions.
- Bachelors/University degree in a law, business or STEM related discipline. Master's degree also a plus. Master of Business Administration is strongly preferred.
