Group Strategic Analytics (GSA) is part of Group Chief Operation Office (COO) which acts as the bridge between the Bank’s businesses and infrastructure functions to help deliver the efficiency, control, and transformation goals of the Bank.
You will be joining the Core Platform Engineering team, which delivers an information security compliant environment for the bulk of the Strat application space. This includes software development in Python, C++ and Google Cloud (GCP) Infrastructure as Code as well as liaison with non-financial-risk officers and platform System Administrators. These environments are used to run large scale real time and batch computation and are critical to meet the commitments of the business to both clients and regulators. The team develops high quality tools whilst working hard to foster a culture of collaboration and engineering excellence. You will make a crucial contribution to the efforts to accelerate the delivery of changes required by Deutsche bank’s commitment to meeting internal audit and regulators requirements in this area.
You will be responsible for owning the delivery capacity, defining the application strategy, providing the technical product vision, creating the roadmap, and driving its execution.

Your key responsibilities
- Applying and maintaining Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Metrics to our existing Estate of Applications working with our team of IT Application Owners and the wider Embedded Risk Teams (ERT). Work together with Engineering colleagues within GSA to encourage and ensure best practice.
- Ensuring Audit and Self-Identified Issues (SIIs) are addressed and progressed through relevant and appropriate changes working with business and technical stakeholders across GSA and with our ERT’s and the Business Control Unit.
- Implementing and improving the run-time environment and so enhancing its regulatory compliance and robustness whilst minimising outages.
- Conduct structured analysis of application processes, identifying gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Perform impact assessments and support solution design aligned with compliance and regulatory standards.
- Gather, validate, and document business requirements; translate them into clear functional and technical specifications.
- Proactive identification of risks to avoid external (Regulator, Statutory, Group Audit) finding scrutiny, and work with the team to build adequate control solutions.
Your skills and experience
- Ability to interpret policy and compliance materials and assess if software and procedures conform to it accurately and sustainably.
- Knowledge of Operational Risk & Control landscape applied to the Banks technical estate.
- Strong business analysis expertise with structured problem-solving skills and procedures
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels
- Work with developers and contribute to source code in a mixed programming language environment, particularly Python and C++. Highly desirable
