Lead Business Strategy Consultant (Data)

We have worked across several industries, with clients including Screwfix, Next, Travel Lodge and Gym Group.

You will be joining a cross‑functional team of like‑minded individuals with shared values, and in your role as Lead Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal leadership role within complex project environments. You will take responsibility for shaping analysis approaches, facilitating strategic conversations, and providing clarity in ambiguous situations.

You will lead workshops, define and challenge business needs, and become the go‑to advisor for your client in relation to business analysis, process improvement, and strategic alignment. You will mentor and support other analysts, influence project direction, and ensure that business value is at the core of every decision.
Alongside strong core BA skills, you will bring enhanced data literacy and practical experience with analytical tools, enabling you to support data‑informed decision‑making, lightweight analysis, and emerging AI‑driven initiatives across Ensono projects.

In this role, you will:

• Lead discovery, requirements definition, and strategic analysis activities across complex programmes.
• Facilitate workshops and stakeholder sessions to define business needs, objectives, constraints, and success criteria.
• Guide clients through strategic decision‑making, challenging assumptions and ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and support to Senior and Consultant‑level Business Analysts within your project and across the practice.
• Represent Ensono at senior‑level client forums, offering strategic insight and thought leaderships

• Inspire clients with the art of the possible, helping them see how enhanced data insight, smarter measurement and clearer KPIs can transform the way they operate and achieve their strategic goals.
• Spot indicators of data quality issues that may impact business outcomes and help clients address them.
• Create Power BI dashboards or similar lightweight analytical outputs that help the client make data-driven decisions to achieve their business outcomes.

• Shape AI/ML‑related requirements and help stakeholders frame AI/ML use cases, define success criteria, and understand risks (bias, accuracy, explainability).
• Review AI‑powered or ML‑driven outputs to ensure usability and alignment to business intent.
• Work with clients to understand their data landscapes and future aspirations, and help them to understand the potential benefits of different strategies.

We are looking for passionate Lead Business Analysts who bring strategic thinking, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering value. You will need:

• Strong experience as a Business Analyst delivering across complex digital, cloud, or transformation programmes.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including senior stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to structure problems, define requirements, and guide teams through discovery and delivery.
• Comfortable with relational database/data modelling concepts, and basic SQL. Understanding of APIs, data pipelines, and ETL processes.
• Understanding of data stewardship, lineage, and compliance requirements.
• Hands‑on experience producing Power BI dashboards or similar lightweight visualisations.
• Awareness of ML/AI concepts sufficient to shape requirements, evaluate business impact of potential use cases and identify where automation or predictive capability could add value.
• A proactive, growth‑oriented mindset with the ability to support and mentor other analysts, driving data literacy across the practice.
