Job Description

About the role:

At Wise, the Audiovisual team is the backbone of seamless events and meetings. We ensure all AV equipment is perfectly poised for action across our offices worldwide. If you have a strong interest in AV technologies and are wanting to learn about Wise and understand our values, we want you to join our team in London. As the Audiovisual Technician, you will be the frontline support for our daily meeting spaces and provide crucial assistance for our larger internal and external events. This is an incredible opportunity to grow your technical skills, actively learn our processes, and be part of making cross-office communication as seamless as possible.

What you’ll do:

  • Assist the broader team in the setup and live streaming of larger cross-company events.

  • Partner with internal communications and event teams to create seamless internal and external experiences.

  • Provide daily support to the audiovisual engineers in the setup for our Google Meet Rooms, performing basic troubleshooting and maintenance in our meeting rooms (checking on mics, cameras, and meeting room controllers).

  • Deal with Jira support tickets and Slack queries in a quick manner, resolving basic issues and asking for help when needed.

  • Support our ongoing office expansion projects alongside internal and external partners.

  • Join team planning sessions to have an input and understand the broader scope of our projects.

  • Seek out impactful improvements for our spaces and processes, always looking at things from a Wiser's point of view.

About you:

  • You are keen to learn how the work of the Audiovisual team impacts Wisers' work and you are always happy to learn more.

  • You have a positive attitude towards challenges and understand that we are solution-focused in both the Audiovisual team, and UT in general.

  • You possess a foundational understanding of the AV tools we work with on an everyday basis.

  • You have basic troubleshooting skills and can understand where to escalate and include the wider team when a problem is beyond your current scope.

  • You actively engage with feedback, trying to understand its value and how to learn from it.

  • You are comfortable with the physical demands of AV setup, including safely moving equipment and managing cables.

  • You have a basic grasp of IT fundamentals (like IP addresses and network connections) and cloud-based conferencing services (Google Meet, Zoom, Vimeo).

  • You seek out opportunities to broaden your knowledge of necessary tools through courses and hands-on practice.

Nice to haves:

  • Previous experience in an IT helpdesk, hospitality, customer support, or live event setup role.

  • Actively studying for or holding foundational industry certifications (e.g., AVIXA CTS, Dante Level 1, or Q-SYS Level 1).

  • Familiarity with digital signage platforms (like Appspace) and Google Workspace.

  • Basic understanding of ticketing systems (like JIRA or ServiceNow) and documentation practices.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
