THE GROUP
Digital Healthcare’s charter is to invent new systems that capture clinical-grade data, extract patient insights, and deliver life-saving healthcare solutions for all.
Within the Digital Healthcare Business Unit, the Design IC team combines ADI’s signal processing capabilities with advanced sensor technologies and state-of-the-art packaging innovations to provide signal chain System-on-Chip and System-in-Package solutions to our Healthcare customers.
Our team is growing, expanding our product portfolio working on IC designs in medical ultrasound, digital x-ray, CT Imaging and Vital Signals Monitoring.
THE POSITION
ADI is seeking for an Intern Mixed Signal Design Engineer for mixed signal ICs design in the Digital Healthcare – Design IC team.
Mixed-Signal Designers will work with Marketing and Application engineers to understand these medical systems to identify issues, come up with solutions, help define product requirements, and execute the circuit design. Some examples of blocks required in projects are analog front ends (LNA, PGA, TGC), signal processing (active and passive filters), charge sharing circuits (switched capacitor topologies), ADCs and DACs.
The position is based in the ADI - Bari Development Center.
Project may be assigned to highly qualified and motivated individuals.

RESPONSABILITIES
Intern Mixed-Signal Design Engineers will be expected to:
- Configuring and running parametric simulations;
- Collating results data and preparing it for onward analysis;
- Creation of simple scripts to assist in the automation of recurring tasks
- Investigate mixed signals circuital blocks to achieve project requirements;
- Using recommended design and verification techniques, tools, and flow to produce basic blocks designs;
- Document, present, and participate in project meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES
Intern Mixed-Signal Design Engineers should meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree;
- Good communication/written skills in English language;
- Good interpersonal skills and teamwork;
- Basic programming and scripting skills;
- Strong problem solving mentality;
- Experience using Unix an advantage;
- Experience using Cadence Virtuoso (or similar circuit simulation tools) an advantage;
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES
- Good knowledge of Cadence design environment including schematic entry, layout, and analog/mixed-signal simulation;
- Good knowledge of CMOS analog and mixed-signal circuit design, tools, and flows;
- Knowledge of precision metrics such as mismatch, noise & linearity is a plus;
- Design experience in bandgaps, or bias circuits, High Voltage amplifier circuits, DACs, ADCs.
- Strong presentation and technical documentation skills;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail;
- Can work both independently and with a cross-functional team.
