About the Role

As part of our Professional Services team, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to design intuitive, accessible, and user-centred interactions for digital services. You will help transform complex processes into simple, effective user journeys that meet both organisational goals and user needs. Your work will play a key role in shaping high-quality digital experiences.

Responsibilities
  • Design end-to-end user journeys and interactions that are clear, accessible, and simple to use.

  • Work closely with user researchers, service designers, content designers, and developers to create seamless service experiences.

  • Produce interaction design artefacts such as user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and interface patterns.

  • Use evidence from user research, analytics, and accessibility standards to inform and iterate design decisions.

  • Contribute to design patterns and maintain consistency across services and products.

  • Conduct design reviews and participate in critiques to improve the quality and effectiveness of design work.

  • Ensure all interactions support accessibility requirements, inclusive design principles, and recognised standards.

  • Advocate for user-centred design approaches throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and Experience
  • Demonstrable experience designing interactions for digital products or services, ideally within public-sector or user-centred environments.

  • Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and agile delivery practices.

  • Proficiency in creating wireframes, prototypes, and interaction flows using industry-standard tools.

  • Ability to interpret user research findings and turn insights into actionable design improvements.

  • Familiarity with design systems and pattern libraries, with experience applying them effectively.

  • Strong communication skills, able to explain design decisions clearly to stakeholders and team members.

  • Comfortable collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and working iteratively.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
