About the Role

Our Core Accounting Team supports the business to create, validate and interpret its financial results to understand whether we are on track to meet our strategic objectives. Our understanding of business operations and products are integral to producing relevant financial information.

Working closely with the finance business partnering teams, we interpret budgets and performance trends to measure and report on business performance. We’re accountable for governance, operation of monthly processes and controls (including balance sheet reconciliations) and managing external audit requirements.

What you will be working on

  • Provide financial leadership in the production on month end and year end results and acts as key point of contact with the external auditors.

  • Focus on external and internal stakeholder management, establishing new and maintaining existing relationships, to ensure excellence of delivery of services to the business.

  • Lead for large or technically complex assignments and implementation of audit recommendations, developing cohesive relationships between Core Accounting, Group Reporting and Internal Audit team members on risk management, technical and other areas.

  • Point of contact for finance excellence regarding IFRS implementation, including IFRS15 and IFRS16.

  • Lead role in the monthly review and management of the Group's control environment. Accountable for creation of quality assured monthly MI packs and ad hoc financial analysis and to evaluate commercial opportunities, to assist the relevant Finance teams.

  • Develop, maintain and monitor a monthly dashboard covering key performance metrics and agreed deliverables to manage performance.

  • Development of efficient and documented standardised processes and timetables within an effective controls framework aligned with Group policies.

  • Identify and implement efficiencies in transactional processes.

  • Provide expertise into the implementation of new commercial deals, projects and system implementations.

  • Keep up to date with technical developments and changes, and act as lead for training for your team.

  • Provide coaching and training to new members of staff and implement processes for supporting and leading a sustainable talent pool of finance professionals.

  • Qualified Accountant.

  • Experience in leadership of large finance teams, with a focus on shared services.

  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence at all levels.

  • Strong knowledge of financial systems, ERP software, and process optimisation.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
