About the role


We're looking for a Head of Brand & Communications to join us and lead the brand strategy and implementation across every touchpoint of The Adaptavist Group to grow our brand awareness and share of voice.

You'll be responsible for defining and leading the overall brand strategy for the Group, and across the Group, right through to the implementation; maintaining the highest possible standards across our execution whilst at the same time carefully monitoring and reporting brand health.

With your expertise and knowledge, you'll support the ongoing growth for The Adaptavist Group through management of best-in-class brand strategies.

Your depth of expertise and knowledge within your domain, you'll contribute to the wider business through thought leadership, knowledge sharing and mentoring.


What you'll do


  • Brand strategy and implementation -

    Work closely with the leadership team to develop and implement a data-driven, market research-led brand and communications strategy that clearly defines the positioning and differentiation of The Adaptavist Group and its brands, aligning with business goals. Oversee brand evolution by recommending strategic adjustments based on market trends, customer behavior, and internal insights. Ensure cohesion, consistency, and quality across our family of brands, taking comprehensive ownership of brand guidelines and serving as a strategic expert. Maintain the highest standards across all channels and touchpoints, including our websites.


    Brand campaigns and major events

    Lead global thought leadership and third-party programs, as well as media strategies and partnerships, to boost awareness among key target segments, working collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure strategic, messaging, and execution alignment. Oversee the group's social media strategy, ensuring adherence to best practices and achievement of KPIs. Support major events and identify speaking opportunities for senior management at external events to elevate The Adaptavist Group's ambitions. Pursue award opportunities that align with and endorse our business goals. Collaborate across the organization on initiatives related to corporate social responsibility, employee engagement, internal communications, and diversity and inclusion, ensuring these efforts align with strategic aims and are reflected in external communications.


    Customer references

    Lead the Customer References initiative across the group, taking full responsibility for the process to ensure it aligns with and reinforces our overall brand strategy. Integrate this initiative seamlessly with other efforts, including PR, campaigns, and activities, to ensure cohesive brand messaging and strategic alignment.


    PR & AR strategy

    Develop and manage proactive and reactive narratives to strategically position The Adaptavist Group within target markets and audiences. Lead the creation and execution of media and analyst relations programs that align with corporate strategies and goals. Oversee agency relationships to cultivate connections with key media, coordinating public and analyst relations efforts to effectively reach target audiences. Collaborate with senior leadership to identify PR opportunities and guide their execution, while also supporting the establishment of best practices in PR and AR to enhance brand messaging and proof points.


    Measurement with an outcomes focus

    Measure and report on the impact of communications and brand initiatives, aligning them with strategic aims and targets to enhance effectiveness, and recommend adjustments for ongoing improvement. Oversee and optimize all activities through constant testing and learning, while staying current with industry trends and best practices to refine strategies. Apply financial acumen to manage budgeting, forecasting, and reporting for the team, ensuring efficient financial management.


    Team leadership & mentorship

    Actively lead the marketing and partnerships leadership team, participating in QBRs and business reviews while setting standards, performance expectations, and behaviors aligned with marketing and business strategies. Function as both a business and functional leader, making decisions that benefit the team and the wider group. Recruit, onboard, and nurture talent to meet strategic aims, and develop growth plans considering team and group needs. Use targets and budgets to enhance team competence and empower team leads in recruitment. Extend expertise and influence beyond your immediate team to the broader marketing and partner team through mentoring. Educate senior colleagues by presenting team achievements in executive meetings, contributing to improvement initiatives that support the Group's development and foster a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.

What we're looking for

  • Extensive strategic brand communications experience, preferably in B2B, the Tech industry, with experience in brand leadership on a multi country/regional and BU level
  • Exceptionally good at understanding the needs and expectations of multiple internal and external stakeholders.
  • A successful history working successfully across a diverse set of stakeholders and teams
  • Data-led, ensuring all activity is highly outcome focussedExcellent organisational and prioritisation skills - experience of managing multiple projects with attention to detail but also an ability to think innovatively and creatively
  • Confident and self-assured communicator - a strong leader of people.
  • Experience of managing a team of direct reports and also able to influence widely to build relationships
  • A strategic thinker, who is able to connect the dots in a fast paced and complex environment but also work with the necessary operational/executional thinking 
  • Excellent financial management skills - planning, budgeting & forecasting
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel, as needed, to support key initiatives
  • Knowledge of the Atlassian partner ecosystem or similar technology partner ecosystems is a strong advantage
