Hello! We're Teya.
Teya is a payment and software service provider, headquartered in London serving small, local businesses across Europe. Founded in 2019, we build easy to use, integrated tools that enable our members to accept payments and boost business performance.
At Teya we believe small, local businesses are the lifeblood of our communities.
We’re here because we don’t believe there’s a level playing field that gives small businesses with a fighting chance against the giants of the high street.
We’re here because we see banks and legacy service providers making things harder for them. We don’t think the best technology or the best service should be reserved for those with the biggest headquarters.
We’re here to fight for a future where small, local businesses can thrive, and to commit the same dedication they offer all of us.
Become a part of our story.
We’re looking for exceptional talent to join our mission. We offer a chance to create impact in a high-energy and connected culture, while benefiting from continuous learning opportunities, a supportive community which is proud to serve our mission, and comprehensive benefits.
Your Mission
We’re hiring a Group Tax Reporting Manager to join our Lisbon-based Finance team and take ownership of how Teya manages and reports its global tax position.
This role sits at the crossroads of tax, accounting, and finance, and is ideal for someone stepping out of practice or looking to make a bigger impact within a fast-growing multinational. You’ll own group tax accounting and reporting across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and audit readiness as we scale.
Working closely with the CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, Head of Tax, and external auditors, you’ll turn complex tax topics into clear, decision-ready insights for senior leadership.
This is more than a compliance role — it’s a chance to gain full visibility of Teya’s global tax profile and help shape the group’s tax story as we grow.
What You’ll Do
Tax Accounting & Reporting
Take full ownership of the Group’s tax accounting process, including monthly and year-end tax provisions
Prepare and analyse effective tax rate (ETR) movements and deferred tax asset/liability positions
Ensure high-quality tax reporting under IFRS and relevant local GAAPs across multiple jurisdictions
Audit & Stakeholder Management
Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors on all tax-related matters
Coordinate audit deliverables, respond to technical queries, and ensure alignment between tax and accounting positions
Communicate the Group’s tax position clearly to senior stakeholders, including the CFO and Chief Accounting Officer
Process Improvement & Controls
Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of tax accounting and reporting processes
Support the design, implementation, and ongoing oversight of the Group’s tax control framework
Ensure tax reporting is consistent, scalable, and audit-ready as the Group grows
Strategic & Project Work
Support Group restructurings, M&A activity, and other strategic initiatives as required
Partner with the Head of Tax on forecasting, cash repatriation, and group structuring projects
Once reporting processes are embedded, contribute actively to the development of the Group Tax Strategy
External Advisory Management
Coordinate with external tax advisors on complex technical matters
Ensure consistent interpretation and application of tax positions across jurisdictions
What You’ll Bring
Fluent in English
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
5–8 years’ experience in corporate tax advisory, tax accounting, or financial audit, ideally within a Big 4 firm or multinational group
Strong understanding of tax accounting under IFRS and local GAAP
Experience preparing or reviewing tax provisions, ETR analysis, and deferred tax positions
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgement around materiality
Ability to clearly explain complex tax concepts to senior, non-tax stakeholders
Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience working across multiple geographies is a plus
Based in Lisbon (or willing to relocate)
