JOB PROFILE DESCRIPTION
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES IN THE BUSINESS:
As a Graduate Workday Generalist Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting the successful specification, design, configuration, testing and deployment of enterprise scale Workday solutions. This will be done by working with customer business and technical teams, as well internal Workday and Smart delivery teams within the Kainos Workday Business Unit.
Your primary activities will be to understand and translate customer requirements, define service scope, and shape, configure and deliver solutions that are fit for purpose and commercially viable for our customers’ Workday and Smart projects. Hands-on product configuration may be required for this role.
You could be allocated into one of the below teams:
Financials – Collaborate with the client's Finance team to assess their processes, such as the end-to-end contracts process, and design solutions within Workday. Your main tasks will include understanding customer requirements, defining service scope, and configuring and delivering commercially viable Workday and Smart solutions. Hands-on product configuration may be needed.
HCM – Partner with our clients HR team to review existing processes such as how they conduct performance reviews, then design and build an appropriate solution to support their team and that process within Workday.
Data – The Data team work closely with the customer to establish which areas of their HR or financials data they would want to capture within Workday. We provide templates to the customer to help make data gathering an easier process, we then use tools which transform the data from the template to a file which is loadable to Workday, we load what is provided and validate to ensure that all the data the customer has delivered to us, is reflected within Workday.
You must have a keen interest in developing a career in consulting. Within Workday at Kainos, the expectation is for our staff to be adaptable and be able to rotate within various Workday teams depending on business needs.

MINIMUM (ESSENTIAL) REQUIREMENTS:
Currently studying towards, or already obtained, at least a Level 6 bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject e.g. Business, Human Resources, Finance, Economics, Integrations, IT/Computer Science, Engineering or STEM subject
Some understanding of the Workday or Cloud delivery methodologies including the relevance of different stages of the project lifecycle
Good communicator, you will be willing to assume a customer facing role, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients
Capable of working within teams and alongside customers, as well as on your individual tasks with limited supervision. Able to manage your time effectively and record it accurately
Able to apply all relevant standards and procedures to your own work, maintaining high quality and accuracy at all times
Aware of the importance of confidentiality and non-disclosure policies and/or agreements and ensure security of information at all times
Able to rotate through various Workday delivery services specifically Consulting and Application Management Services
Able to travel, if required
Familiarity with, exposure to, or a demonstrated willingness to learn generative technologies (such as Generative AI tools) to drive innovation, streamline processes, or deliver impactful results within the role.
DESIRABLE:
Basic understanding of Human Resource, Financials, or Payroll operations and/or software integrations
THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE APPLYING:
Travel expectations: At Kainos, we work with a diverse range of clients and some of our projects require travel. If travel were required, we will endeavour to keep this to a minimum and ensure sufficient notice is provided.
Working arrangements: Upon joining, you will be expected to work in your contracted office for 5 days per week for the 6 months. After which, you can work hybrid, in agreement with your People Manager. These days may be fixed. You must be available to attend your contracted office, or to a customer site, when required.
Workday Certification: All graduates will participate in a structured training programme, which includes Workday Certification where relevant to your role. This training typically spans 2 to 4 full weeks, and attendance is mandatory for all training days. Successfully passing your certification is a requirement of the role, and you’ll receive full training and support from Kainos throughout the process.
