Global Services Portfolio Consultant
Job Description
The SUSE Global Services Portfolio Consultant is a strategic creator and advocate for a compelling and modern portfolio of services offerings. This role is crucial for accelerating time-to-value and delivering tangible outcomes that matter to our clients. With customer experience at the center of everything we do, you will empower our customers with flexible access to the right services and experts at the right time.
The core mission is to design, create, and maintain services offering, including predefined consulting services, that dynamically respond to customer, market, and sales demand while robustly supporting the overarching product strategies, leveraging your own deep technical expertise in SUSE open source technologies covering Linux, Cloud Native, Edge, and AI. You will also be the vital bridge, bringing deep technical insight from the field and industry back to key stakeholders, while fostering a collaborative approach with SUSE's Engineering & Innovation and Sales leadership teams to drive customer success.
The mission of the Global Services Portfolio Consultant is to maximize the value delivered by the SUSE global services portfolio through effective selection, prioritization, planning, execution, and review of projects and services. You will strive to align the SUSE global services portfolio with strategic business objectives and drive innovation within the organization.
How You’ll ContributeDesign, create, and maintain services offering: Lead the technical design and development of services portfolio offering and act as subject matter expert when engaging with product managers and technical services team.
Lead the lifecycle of services portfolio: Lead the end-to-end services portfolio, which includes premium support, consulting, and training services. The role focuses heavily on consulting, from drafting detailed, predefined offerings to validating their technical and practical feasibility with the consulting team, and ensuring they are scalable and repeatable.
Enable the services portfolio strategy: Support the services portfolio team members in creating the vision and roadmap for the offering portfolio, aligning it with the customer journey, and tracking services from idea to retirement. This involves assisting with market demand and industry trend analysis, providing competitive analysis, and managing a cross-functional team for development.
Enable sales and delivery: Collaborate with corporate enablement and marketing to ensure the field sales teams are equipped to successfully sell services offerings. Work with the services management and delivery teams to define and create delivery artifacts that support consistent and successful project execution.
Drive cross-functional collaboration: Work with product business units, services technical teams (consultants, support engineers, technical trainers), and services delivery team to define the reference architect, the technical solution, and processes needed to bring such solution to market. Seek input from clients and internal stakeholders to define roadmaps.
Provide technical enablement to the technical services team and subcontractors: This involves designing and maintaining a methodology for technical enablement of the technical services team and subcontractors on new service offerings, ensuring they are proficient in the practical application and delivery of new services.
Deep Technical Knowledge: Hands-on experience with open source technologies such as Linux, cloud-native technologies, and Kubernetes. Must be able to leverage this expertise to design and validate service offerings and provide enablement to technical teams.
Expertise in Portfolio Management & Strategy: Proven ability to create, maintain, and execute a services portfolio roadmap. Must demonstrate a combination of strong business acumen and deep technical understanding to align market demands with strategic business objectives.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated ability to align and manage cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., sales, finance, engineering, marketing) to drive the successful launch and lifecycle management of new service offerings. Your ability to operate independently within your domain will be key.
Proven Delivery and Enablement Experience: A track record of delivering complex work products, managing project lifecycles, and creating the necessary artifacts to ensure consistent delivery. Experience with facilitating technical enablement and workshops for internal teams is essential.
Communication Skills: Strong communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills are critical for success in a collaborative, global role. Fluent in English—able to conduct all aspects of the role in English.
