The Global Planning team is responsible for organization and implementation of a complex Supply Chain operation, which consists of the creation and management of demand and the related supply plan, inventory management and process control. They plan, implement and control the efficient flow and storage of goods, services, and related information between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to meet customer's requirements and partner with the different entities within the Value chain.
About the roleWithin Dyson's Global Planning Department, the Value Chain Planning Lead responsibilities will be to optimise the end-to-end mid and longer-term planning for one of the product categories of Dyson, from a Demand, Supply and Inventory perspective. The Value Chain Planning Lead works closely with several different departments to ensure the flawless execution of the plan, optimise the production network, analyses risks and opportunities and provides insight by modelling scenarios to mitigate shortages and/or maximising profitability.
The ideal candidate is experienced in longer-term planning both in Demand and Supply and has a proven track record of optimising a production and distribution network end-to-end, powered with great inter-personal skills who values collaboration across the board.
Key accountabilities:
Creating demand models based on business insights research & sales analysis
Partners with Commercial on quantitative patterns of promotions, seasonality and events
Partners with Finance on establishing an integrated financial business forecasting
Integrate demand signals and their quantitative effect on the overall sales forecast
Determine and implement external influencers into a holistic forecasting model using Machine Learning techniques.
Creation of the Rough-Cut Production Plan (RCCP) for the Category
Manages the RCCP by continuously optimising different planning parameters
Collaboration with Operations on capacity at the Contract Manufactories based on single and multi-sourcing tactical strategies (production network optimisation)
Collaborate with Procurement to secure and/or to purchase critical and long lead time components
Allocations in capacity constrained situations, aligned with stakeholders within IBP
Maintaining the available capacity based on the production calendar
Hands over the RCCP to the Master Scheduler and ensures that the MPS is in line with the RCCP
Strong Academic record in supply chain management or equivalent.
Analytical with complex decision-making skills for modelling and regression analysis
Understanding and able to work with statistical models
Several years of experience with longer-term Planning based on planning parameters within an MNC
Proven track record in production network optimisation
Strong drive to find creative solutions to new challenges
Demonstrate flexibility and resilience and respond constructively to new demands and challenges.
