FP&A Analyst

Salary – £45,000 - £55,000 

London or Swindon

We are seeking a talented and driven FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis) Analyst to join our team. The FP&A Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department by providing accurate and timely financial analysis, insights, and recommendations. As an integral member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams, collaborate closely with senior management, and contribute to the company's strategic decision-making process.

What you will be doing:

1. Financial Planning & Budgeting: Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop, maintain, and analyse financial forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term financial plans. Ensure accuracy and integrity in financial models and reports.

2. Financial Analysis & Reporting: Perform in-depth commercial financial analysis of revenue, expenses, and profitability drivers to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Evaluate financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs), write succinct & focused commentaries and ensure reports are accurate, timely, and provide actionable insights into business performance.

3. Variance Analysis: Monitor financial performance against budget and forecasted targets. Prepare comprehensive variance analysis reports, highlighting key drivers of variances and providing insights to improve financial performance.  Create monthly rolling forecasts

4. Strategic Decision Support: Assist in evaluating commercial business initiatives by conducting profitability analysis, and scenario modeling. Provide decision support to senior management through data-driven recommendations. 

5. Finance Business Partner: Collaborate closely with various departments (Operations, Sales, Marketing, etc.) to provide financial insights, support cost optimization initiatives, and drive operational efficiency. Act as a finance business partner to foster collaboration and ensure financial goals are aligned with overall business objectives.

6. Process Improvements: Continuously assess and improve financial planning and analysis processes, systems, and tools. Utilize automation and data analytics to streamline reporting, improve accuracy, and enhance overall efficiency.

What you will bring:

  • Newly qualified/Passed Finalist CIMA / ACCA / ACA (or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with financial management platforms (e.g. ERP systems, data visualization & planning tools) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
