Location:

This role is based in London Victoria, and offers hybrid working, with majority of the working week in the office. We recommend discussing arrangements with the hiring manager.

The Team

Performance and Planning are a small but key team within Data and Technology, responsible for financial management, change delivery, resourcing, governance, and effective vendor, risk and audit management. It’s vital that our team have people with the right skills, experience and capability to successfully add value to the Data and Technology team and across the organisation.

The role

  • Data & Technology finances; ensuring they are accurately budgeted, proactively managed and all associated processes are delivered within group deadlines

  • Tracking expenditure with vendors and contributing to the renewals process

  • Identifying and implementing both improvements to processes, and opportunities to reduce our cost base and increase value add

  • Close collaboration with Data and Technology budget owners, as well as stakeholders from the finance, procurement and business unit teams

  • Salary: Competitive

Principle Accountabilities

  • Overheads forecasting and budgeting, in partnership with budget owners and finance, adhering to Group deadlines

  • Service charge budgeting and actuals mapping processes, in partnership with budget owners, finance team and key stakeholders, adhering to Group deadlines

  • In partnership with finance team and budget owners, analyse actuals, ensure correct alignment and treatment of costs, and implement any resulting actions

  • Ensure the Data and Technology finance tracker is proactively managed, improved and updated

  • Update and maintain vendor finance trackers

  • PO raising and receipting - verify budget code, raise PO, follow up approvals, send to supplier, receipt goods and services when applicable

  • Tracking and reporting on cost saving initiatives

  • Identify cost reduction and value add opportunities across our cost base

  • Actively seek to improve processes and implement new ideas

  • Build close working relationships across the organisation

  • Respond to / redirect email queries where necessary in a timely manner

Essential Criteria

  • Technology organisation budget planning and financial management experience, preferably with showback and/or chargeback models

  • Experience of cost and project accounting

  • Detail oriented, ensuring accuracy and completeness executed in all tasks

  • High level of energy and flexibility to get things done and thrive in a fast-paced, agile, team-oriented environment

  • Proactive, with drive and confidence to use various methods of communication with stakeholders to obtain timely resolutions

  • Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, ability to manage conflicting demands and ensure deadlines are met

  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities; understanding current state and acting where required to course correct
