A strategic and commercial Finance Director who will be responsible for the financial management of the company including the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, as well as the management of accounting systems and processes. You will play a pivotal role in the business by actively partnering with the senior leadership team, providing insightful financial guidance, and influencing strategic decision-making.
We are looking for someone who excels at building relationships, has a proven ability to influence stakeholders, demonstrates strong strategic thinking, and possesses strong commercial acumen. Through these attributes, you will bridge the gap between the finance function and the wider business, ensuring financial support that optimally drives our growth and impact.

The Role and its Responsibilities
The exact role definition will be dependent on the desire, capability and experiences of the right person. Reporting to the COO, key responsibilities are likely to include:
Providing comprehensive financial leadership and strategic oversight.
Driving financial planning and analysis (FP&A) to support business growth.
Prepare monthly management accounts.
Prepare month-end accounts and ensure all statutory submissions are made accurately and on time.
Work with the leadership team to ensure that key strategic decisions are informed by a clear understanding of the financial implications.
Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
Manage our outsourced payroll provider and ensure that payroll submissions are accurate and in line with budget.
Involvement in ad hoc financial projects.
Preparation of budget and monitoring actual cost and revenue performance.
Establishing complete, efficient, and robust controls and processes.
Assist with the production of annual statutory accounts.
Business partnering with the leadership team in regards to any financial matters.
Long-term P&L forecasting.
Managing cash flow.
Developing and implementing financial strategies to optimise performance.
Identifying and mitigating financial risks.

To be successful in this role, you would need the following attributes:
Key Attributes:
Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA).
Solid technical accounting capabilities, demonstrating the ability to produce annual financial accounts and management accounts in accordance with regulations.
Strong understanding of taxation, including corporate taxation, payroll, VAT, and ideally key principles of international tax.
Experience in a similar senior finance role, ideally within a professional services or agency environment.
Exceptional analytical skills – the ability to interpret complex financial data/results, potentially leveraging AI tools and techniques, to inform discussions with the leadership team.
Excellent communication skills and capable of articulating complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation.
You are action-oriented, have a keen eye for detail and enjoy juggling multiple projects and priorities and enjoy just the right amount of time pressure to help keep productive and focused. You are a ‘people person’ with a knack for building relationships with a diverse group of people.

Ideally you will be within commuting distance of our London office You will be within commuting distance of our London office, attending the office (Waterloo) at least twice per week.

We generally work office hours but trust each other to make fair decisions. We are open to considering candidates seeking a 4-day work week - salary will be pro-rated accordingly.
