  • The role of the Billing Specialist is to support the FP&A - Revenue Assurance Team in providing accurate and timely release of invoice/billing to different Sun Life business units (Asia, Canada and US). He/She will provides analysis on the monthly and year to date with regards to revenue (variances on budget and forecast). The Finance Billing Specialist will play a key part in financial discipline in ensuring revenue maximization as the role provides support to drive the target billability of each resource.
  • Directly reporting to the FP&A Manager. All reports related to billed charges to business units are subject to sign-off from FP&A Manager prior to release.

  • Is highly-adaptable to develop new approaches to meet changing needs and to work well with different personalities in a fast-changing, quick-paced environment and flexible enough to re-prioritize/re-plan (as needed) to meet timelines

Qualifications (heading) / Compétences (titre)

  • BS Accountancy Graduate, Preferably licensed accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in billing/invoicing and knowledge about accepted accounting principles
  • With integrity, accountability, sense of urgency, taking responsibility for doing what you say and delivering commitments
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision. Detail-oriented
  • Both a strong individual contributor and an effective team player
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills 
  • Working knowledge of business applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Sharepoint), Outook, Planview, ServiceNow, SAP B1 and SAP Concur.

  • Must be fully proficient in the critical skills, knowledge and competencies required for the job and function. 
  • He/She must be detailed oriented as the role scope is from end-to-end. 
  • Prepares and present the Monthly Revenue Analysis Report and Chargeability reports 
  • Explains to business units who have inquiries on charges (escalation inquiries) 
  • Provides data and support on the monthly forecast on revenue
  • Provides support on Yearly Budget with regards to revenue
  • Assist in implementing improvement procedures and automation/digitization project
  • All other adhoc reports and analysis
