This role reports into the Finance Manager – Accounting and takes ownership of all aspects of Banking and Treasury as well as supporting the Finance Manager with internal and external financial reporting tasks.

Responsibilities include assisting with day to day accounting, financial reporting, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. The role also involves assisting the Finance Manager – Accounting on finance transformation projects to develop and improve finance efficiency.

This position requires experience of working in a fast-paced organization while initiating and actioning process improvements alongside driving a fun and inclusive culture across a team of qualified and non-qualified finance professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to ensure that all bank transactions are posted in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Preparation and oversight of all bank reconciliations.

  • Take ownership of all aspects of franchise loan accounting and subsequent reconciliations between the loan and accounting system.

  • Assist in the financial close processes (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for UK businesses.

  • Assist in the timely delivery of all external statutory and regulatory reporting processes. (Corporation Tax, VAT) ensuring compliance with local accounting standards.

  • Collaborate with the U.S.-based Corporate Accounting teams to ensure compliance with UK GAAP, US GAAP and internal accounting policies.

  • Assist with liaison with external auditors and regulatory bodies.

  • Work closely with other parts of the Global Finance function on the intercompany processes.

  • Assist with VAT related tasks.

  • Support the Finance Manager – Accounting with the preparation of the UK balance sheet and prepare balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner; identifying possible risks.

  • Prepare and post journal entries, account analyses, and reports on a monthly/quarterly basis.

  • Contribute to continuous process improvements to ensure information is timely and accurate.

  • Perform and review various monthly processes, analyses, and reporting, including SOX controls.

  • Work with the UK FP&A team to understand financial performance and variances.

  • Assist in championing UK ERP system (NetSuite), helping to lead system-related projects.

Requirements:

  • Part-qualified or recently qualified accountant (ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA), with management reporting and month-end close experience.

  • Knowledge of Netsuite or a similar ERP system.

  • Use or Margill or similar treasury system.

  • Reporting experience under both UK and US GAAP (preferred)

  • Experience in a Regional Accounting team in an international / public company environment.

  • Highly motivated, self-directed, independent thinker with experience of improving processes.

  • QSR industry or franchisee experience (preferred).

  • Advanced MS Office skills and an interest in systems.

  • Ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment and to adapt to new situations

  • Demonstrated ability to quickly establish trust and build relationships Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
