About the role
The Finance Analyst will play a key business partner function to key stakeholders of the respective C&I business function. This role will deliver month-end process and all associated management reporting, as well as quarterly forecasts and annual budget, 4-year plan and ongoing review of risks and opportunities.
What you'll be doing
Month-End Accounting & Performance Reporting
- Perform month-end close process to a high standard and in a timely and efficient manner
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations as part of the month-end close, as well as the quarterly balance sheet review process
- Prepare the business unit management performance reporting
- Provide insights on business performance against strategy through variance analysis and commentary
- Identify ongoing risks & opportunities that need to be managed
Finance Business Partnering
- Play key support role as business partner to respective C&I LT function and their teams
- Review the financial viability of business cases for growth initiatives
- Support the business unit leadership teams in formulating and delivering on their strategies
- Promote a cost-conscious and cash-conscious culture within the business unit, and support delivery of cost saving or working capital initiatives
Budget, Reforecast and 4-year plan
- Support as required the forecasting process from collection of inputs, navigation of interdependencies and preparation of outputs to stakeholder buy-in
- Identify and recommend initiatives to improve financial performance, including identification and analysis of opportunities and risks
- Assist with collating outputs to achieve buy-in from business unit leadership teams, including reviewing key assumptions, the drivers for variances and sensitivities
Group and External Reporting
- Prepare analysis and commentary for inputs to group and external reporting as required
- Provide support for judgmental audit issues with external auditors
- Provide input and analysis into annual impairment testing
Systems and Process Improvement
- Deliver continuous improvement initiatives in both process and system
- Proactively support change as new systems and processes are rolled out
What you'll bring
CA/CPA/ACA/MBA qualified
Advanced user of a Finance module of ERP (preferably SAP)
Advanced user of MS office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
High quality written communication skills including exposure to board papers
Experience of month-end close and finance planning process
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Ability to pick up new concepts quickly and problem solve independently
Ability to present complex data/concepts in a clear and easily understood manner
Ability to manage complex projects with multiple resources
Ability to influence and interact with senior management & executives across the business
