Our London office is currently recruiting for an experienced, strategic and highly motivated Events & Sponsorship Manager to join our international law firm.

The Role

Based in London and working as part of an established wider marketing and business development (MBD) team, you will develop and deliver the firm's client events ensuring that all event production & logistics are planned and managed to the highest standard, reflecting our brand values.

We are looking for a positive and creative attitude, combined with excellent operational capabilities to lead and manage events. This role will also contribute to the creation of new proposals for corporate sponsorships, memberships and strategic partnerships, while ensuring we are effectively activating and leveraging all current opportunities.

The events team work with both lawyers and business development teams across EMEA; advising on creative and differentiating ways to connect with clients, ensuring best practice and high quality of delivery, supporting onsite when necessary. The team also manages hospitality requests, together with corporate sponsorships and memberships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Events and Sponsorship team, UK and European stakeholders, our client and business development teams and employee resource groups to determine their event requirements and the planning of event programs that will drive client engagement.  
  • Researching, developing and delivering new and innovative events and technology which reflect and support the business’s objectives and strategy.
  • Advising stakeholders on compliance, governance and event processes.

Coordinating all aspects of event planning and logistics including:

  • Working with stakeholders to develop clear and strategic event briefs.
  • Building and communicating robust processes and project plans for every event.
  • Briefing registration sites and invitations.
  • Managing the invitation process, RSVPs and all delegate management aspects.
  • Venue research and negotiation of vendor contracts.
  • Coordination of logistical and audio-visual requirements.
  • On-site event management (some travel will be required).
  • Managing relationships with external third-party agencies. 
  • Speaker management including contracting, briefing and logistics.
  • Manage and support a range of events, including smaller BAU events, internal & network events as well as Executive events both in the UK and overseas.
  • Ensuring all relevant activity is logged and monitored, event folders are kept up to date and events adhere to strict budget, internal process, governance and compliance requirements.
  • Supporting and developing follow-up process for all events.
  • Budget management and invoice reconciliation.
  • Ensuring event reporting, tracking and feedback management is maintained to demonstrate a high return on investment

Skills and Experience Required

  • Event management experience within a professional services or corporate environment.
  • Relationship effectiveness – experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
  • Insight – ability to understand the needs of our stakeholders, manage expectations and provide unique solutions aligned to business strategy.
  • Process management – ability to ensure processes are being followed and adapted as required.
  • Delivery – develop credibility and trust through consistent high-quality execution and management of events.
  • Adaptable – ability to lead and support events managed by other team members when necessary.
  • Ability to multi-task – manage multiple projects, work under pressure and prioritise effectively.
  • Attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to mix strategic thinking with practical application.
  • Ability to initiate action and work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Flexibility in scheduling work hours to accommodate the timing of events, which may include working early mornings, evenings, weekends and travel.
  • Knowledge of Vuture, InterAction, ON24, Zoom and Teams desirable.
