Equities Cash Connectivity – Exchange Connectivity Analyst/Engineer

What We do / The Team
The Global Market Access (GMA) team is looking to build on the current team existing of 11 members who cover all exchange connectivity for cash equities globally. We are seeking to add a, hands-on exchange connectivity analyst/engineer to the team to help expand our venue coverage using the next generation platform we are building (OMA) and look to onboard with other asset classes across the bank (e.g. FX, Rates, Futures).
Role Overview/What will you do:
- Work within a global team of experienced Connectivity Analyst/Engineers to establish and maintain connectivity from Citi to our internal/external trading venues.
- Building relationship with internal and external teams, the successful applicant will be responsible for end to end delivery of prioritized connectivity streams of work
- Communicate effectively with Business, Development, QA, Infrastructure and Production Support teams.
- Use technical skills to ensure business requirements are understood at all levels of delivery
- Assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution across development, support and technical business users
- Provide ongoing support after implementation, whilst working on new enhancements and additional phases.
- This role is ideally suited for a very delivery focused technologist and someone looking to gain a lot of exposure to trading/sales, as well as the chance to work on cutting edge technology.
- Create documentation on 'how to' and useful information on areas of business and application functionality
Key Skills and Experience required -
Knowledge/Experience:
- Good experience in FIX Protocol/Fix exchange onboarding as well as Binary protocols
- Good understanding of electronic trading and financial markets
- Experience of working in a trading environment
- Good Analytical and Project Coordination skills
- Experience with 3rd party vendors and exchange connectivity
Skills:
- FIX Protocol
- Binary protocols (e.g. T7, BOE, Ouch, Pillar)
- Unix/Linux
- XML
- Good understanding of network / Telco connectivity
- Aegis Client Simulator or other FIX testing/certification tools
Competencies
- Demonstrates effective analysis and problem solving
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work load and meet multiple project deadlines
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment and make independent decisions
- Relationship Management - Ability to deal with a range of external parties, stakeholders and business groups with varying levels of seniority, but locally and globally.
Any Beneficial / Nice to have skills and experience:
- Git (Version Control)
- Atlassian suite (JIRA/Confluence/Bitbucket)
- QA testing experience with electronic trading applications
- Production Support experience with electronic trading applications
