We are actively seeking a Sr. Enterprise Architect – CPW Services resident in our UK London Office or remote anywhere in EMEA.
Position Summary
The Sr. Enterprise Architect will have progressive experience in IT including excellent technical skills with specific experience as an Architect focused on infrastructure technologies. He/she is expected to partner with existing subject matter experts in technology architecture (network, storage, backup/recovery, virtualization, mobility, operating systems, etc.) providing thought leadership to technical strategy, including driving product roadmaps, reviewing and analyzing current architecture and its ability to support strategic objectives.
He/she will collaborate with all levels of client and internal IT staff, while demonstrating effective written and oral communication skills, deep analytical skills, technical expertise, solution orientation, strategic thinking, the ability to establish rapport at all levels of the organization, and the ability to drive consensus. Focus will be on technical sales support and retention of existing clients by solving issues related to infrastructure. This position may require travel averaging 50% of working time. However, travel could be more or less as required and necessary to successfully carry out work assignments
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and configure O/S compatibility solutions that meet or exceed business requirements
- Document new Linux & Unix compatibility solutions to support other teams
- Drive automation for development and implementation in Linux & Unix environments
- Support operational teams during new process and policy implementations
- Participate in project planning and provide technical leadership
- Identifies and corrects ineffective or missing processes or tools which may be a hindrance to project execution
- Works with Sr. Engineers to architect best-in-class solutions
- Proactively identifies risks, communicates them clearly to the team and to stakeholders
- Maintain relationships with clients and third parties
- Analyze industry trends and propose updated technology solutions
- Works with other cross functional engineering teams to validate API, content and architecture decisions
- Assists Project Manager with generating new project plans and sprint capacity planning
- Drives product excellence by helping teams define and build products that generate measurable value
Required Qualifications:
- Experience in configuring Linux & Unix systems (Red Hat, SUSE and IBM AIX)
- Experience in scripting with Bash, Perl, Python, and/or Git for automation
- Experience in virtualization (VMware, HyperV or KVM Hypervisors) and containerization - DevOps (Docker or Podman and Kubernetes for orchestration)
- Experience of databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL and MSSQL)
- Knowledge of OpenStack or CloudStack for deployments
- 5 + years in a software engineering capacity
- Deep understanding of software engineering and established best practices
- Solve technology stack issues relative to new releases and established applications
- Communicate effectively with technical and sales resources.
- Ability to create and present to internal and external clients.
Education
- BA or BS degree or higher from an accredited institution in information systems, computer science, or a related technical discipline

Experience
- At least 5 years progressive experience in IT supporting large heterogeneous enterprise systems
- Must have advanced skills in scripting and programming languages as needed
Skills
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Scripting in Bash and other automation tools.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and modeling skill
- Ability to articulate solution options and build consensus on most plausible alternatives
- Expertise and solid understanding of Oracle Databases, SAN/NAS, mobile solutions/technologies, server and client virtualization, network security, UNIX and Windows platforms with Emphasis on ERP architecture
- Strong background with dot net architecture
- Motivated by the desire to make a difference in the business, to work with a highly talented set of peers, and to work on interesting projects
- Ability to take a proof-of-concept to reality and document reproducible steps.
