Engineering Program Manager, North

Position Overview

We're seeking an Engineering Program Manager to strengthen our North operations and drive execution excellence across our product portfolio. This role will work closely with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project lifecycle management and operational efficiency.

About North:

North is Cohere's cutting-edge AI workspace platform, designed to revolutionize the way enterprises utilize AI. It offers a secure and customizable environment, allowing companies to deploy AI while maintaining control over sensitive data. North integrates seamlessly with existing workflows, providing a trusted platform that connects AI agents with workplace tools and applications.

As an Engineering Program Manager, you will:
  • Establish and scale foundational processes that allow North's teams to execute better and faster across our growing platform

  • Partner directly with North leadership and Members of Technical Staff on efforts to design, develop and improve North's core capabilities and research bets

  • Run cross-functional programs, collaborating and coordinating with Product, Engineering, Design, and Customer Success teams on delivering features on time and within scope, establishing feedback loops, and optimize resource distribution across competing priorities

  • Map out dependencies and risks across the North ecosystem, ensuring smooth cross-functional execution while communicating status to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Troubleshoot cross-team challenges and build dependable partnerships both within and outside the North organization

  • Constantly seek to improve communication flow of priorities, ideas, and progress throughout all layers of the organization

  • Manage project tracking tools, Linear triage, team workflows, and facilitate cross-functional planning sessions

  • Respond quickly to program-level changes, clarifying new scope and marshaling resources in response to evolving customer and market priorities

YYou may be a good fit if you:
  • Have 3+ years as an Engineering Program Manager or Technical Program Manager, with demonstrated experience in startup or high-growth environments

  • Have experience with AI/ML products or technical platforms

  • Have a resourceful, can-do attitude and thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments where you can wear multiple hats and do whatever it takes to get things done

  • Are comfortable with low structure, high impact situations where you can roll up your sleeves, be pragmatic, and function at both tactical and strategic levels to drive results, with proven ability to build processes, teams, or programs from scratch

  • Have strong bias for action and can move quickly from problem identification to solution implementation

  • Have experience with project management tools (Linear, Jira, etc.) and can effectively manage workflows and processes

  • Have excellent communication skills for interfacing with both technical teams and business stakeholders across all levels of the organization

  • Have experience working across multiple customer environments and triaging requests effectively

  • Love to automate your work - and can use North to do so!

This role offers the opportunity to build foundational program management skills while directly impacting product delivery and team efficiency across our growing North operations.

If some of the above doesn’t line up perfectly with your experience, we still encourage you to apply! If you want to work really hard on a glorious mission with teammates that want the same thing, Cohere is the place for you.

We value and celebrate diversity and strive to create an inclusive work environment for all. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to providing equal opportunities. What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
