Job Description
The Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Treasury team is responsible for managing the capital and liquidity resource usage of the CIB's businesses - both at firm-wide and legal entity levels. The broader CIB Treasury team also establishes market-based funds transfer pricing policy and develops methodologies and metrics to improve collateral and liquidity risk management capabilities. As a team, CIB Treasury works closely with Corporate Treasury and Asset and Liability Risk Management (ALM) colleagues to develop consolidated liquidity risk metrics and analysis in support of internal and regulatory requirements. Within this broader context, the EU team works across the organization to monitor and assess the funding, liquidity and capital resource usage at the legal entity level within the region. In its role as an advisor and oversight function to the CIB, CIBT enjoys a unique viewpoint on some of the most strategic issues facing the CIB and is often in the centre of projects shaping the future direction of the business.
This team is looking for a Vice President who will drive the broader long-term forecast process supporting the largest legal entities within the EMEA region. This team works closely with stakeholders in Europe, the UK and globally to deliver long-term forecasting of balance sheet and liquidity parameters required under local regulations. In this role you will broaden your exposure to a broad suite of CIB products and business events. This role will have exposure across the organization and is an excellent opportunity for a candidate who is interested in a holistic view of the CIB's activity within the EU region.
Job responsibilities:
- Partnering with the CIB lines of business, EMEA Capital Management, Corporate Treasury, EMEA P&A and Legal Entity Control to support quarterly forecasting of future balance sheet, funding and liquidity requirements as well as tracking forecast vs. actuals.
- Driving the analysis of balance sheet, liquidity and funding impacts of potential business and structural changes in EMEA LEs.
- Delivering thoughtful analyses to support Asset and Liability Committee review as well as other internal meetings where analysis of future entity balance sheet, funding, liquidity and currency positions are required.
- Providing ongoing support for related external reporting including ad hoc regulator requests and quarterly ILAAP and ICAAP reporting and narrative updates.
- Partnering with legal entity liquidity teams to incorporate long term forecasts into their daily reporting.
- Drive on-going improvements and efficiencies within the forecast process; this will include a focus on automation and integration of next generation tools including Alteryx and Tableau
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Working knowledge of Investment Bank products and balance sheet along with general accounting principles
- Previous exposure to liquidity risk measures (including LCR and NSFR) and funding concepts
- Familiarity with GAAP and IFRS balance sheet accounting conventions
- System fluency in excel as well as ability to leverage alteryx and tableau tools
- Excellent working knowledge of PowerPoint (including PitchPro)
- Strong analytical, investigative problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Focused work ethic, good business sense and demonstrated initiative, strong attention to detail. Clear and concise written and verbal communication abilities
