The Shift4 E2E Engineering Solution Architect focuses on understanding, implementing, and testing Shift4’s end-to-end products and payment solutions across multiple systems and platforms. They work with product, development and engineering teams to ensure new and existing features are effectively integrated and deployed, meeting business requirements and organizational standards. Their role also includes technical leadership, mentorship, and staying current Shift4 products and industry trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for building and maintaining systems, processes, and tools that enable the new Shift4 products to be validated ahead of delivering to the production platforms and the operation team. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of product capabilities, regional requirements, and functionality delivered to 3rd party partners
- Develop and execute production test plans and scripts to ensure features are working as intended, identify product defects and ensure software functionality. Maintains test documentation, including test plans and scripts
Providing implementation guidance and oversight to operations and engineering teams during product delivery and project execution stages, ensuring the features and capabilities are implemented as intended - Facilitating cross-functional communication between product, engineering, marketing, and sales teams. Providing feedback to Product leadership with product usability evaluations, suggestions for improvement
- Delivering technical leadership and mentoring other team members, particularly in areas like architecture, deployment models, and technology capabilities. Working closely with stakeholders, including business teams, developers, and project managers.
- Mentoring, guiding, training, or onboarding team members in relevant technologies, capabilities, and skills. Familiarity with testing methodologies, tools, and scripting languages (if applicable). Identifying root causes and implementing solutions
Key skills and experience:
- Experience evaluating and deploying new product features to test and production environments, ensuring they meet Enterprise Merchants, testing features and ensuring they are properly
- Understanding of payment credit card networks, digital wallets, payment products work, including their features and capabilities, payment devices (Verifone, PAX, Ingenico), payment infrastructure and security protocols
- Experience designing and executing test plans for payment systems, identifying and reporting bugs, and ensuring products align with required customer use cases, regional and general industry standards
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex technical scenarios.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field like Computer Science or IT is often preferred, though experience can be a substitute
- A strong history of motivating cross-functional teams and driving consensus in a matrix organisation.
- 5 years of experience in relevant payment industries, such as retail, lodging or hospitality and experience with e-commerce
