ControlUp is the market leader in Digital Employee Experience (DEX) management, giving organizations increased visibility and control over employees' digital experience, no matter where they work and no matter where infrastructure lives—on-premises or in the cloud.
We are a fast-growing company and looking for great people to join us on the road to world domination. To become a ControlUpper, you should be a team player, a positive thinker, eager to learn, and an obstacle-crusher.

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Product Marketing to lead our Product Marketing function and report directly to the SVP of Marketing. In this role, you will manage a small but mighty team and oversee the full scope of product marketing—from positioning and messaging to go-to-market (GTM) execution and sales enablement.

You’ll be responsible for establishing a compelling voice for ControlUp in the market, driving thought leadership, shaping how our solutions are understood, and ensuring sales has the content, tools, and training to succeed. As the leader of this function, you’ll collaborate closely with product management, field sales, and the broader marketing organization to define strategies, create impactful assets, and ensure ControlUp is consistently and effectively positioned against competitors.

This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives on both strategy and execution, enjoys managing and developing people, and is ready to scale a function with high visibility and impact.

What You Will Do

  • Lead and Manage the Product Marketing Function – Manage, mentor, and grow a team of product marketers, while driving cross-functional alignment with product, sales, and marketing leadership.
  • Own Positioning and Messaging – Define and refine ControlUp’s positioning and messaging to differentiate our DEX solutions and align with key personas across the buyer’s journey.
  • Drive GTM Strategy – Build and execute go-to-market strategies for product launches, solution campaigns, and sales plays that drive pipeline and revenue.
  • Sales Enablement – Partner with sales leadership to equip the field with tools, training, and content to effectively communicate our value proposition and close deals.
  • Content Leadership – Oversee the creation of impactful assets—presentations, case studies, eBooks, videos, demos—that educate, engage, and inspire both technical and business audiences.
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence – Lead efforts to analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics. Translate insights into actionable strategies for product and sales teams.
  • Thought Leadership & Evangelism – Represent ControlUp at industry events, webinars, and customer meetings, articulating our vision and reinforcing our position as the DEX market leader.
  • Collaboration Across Teams – Work closely with product management, engineering, and field marketing to ensure alignment between product capabilities, messaging, and market needs.
  • Drive regular engagement with Analysts - Provide regular updates on product and messaging to Analysts such as Gartner on company, product and market updates

What You Will Bring

  • 8+ years of product marketing experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or people management role.
  • Proven success leading product marketing in enterprise software; experience in End-User Computing (Citrix, VMware Horizon, Microsoft AVD) or Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to craft differentiated positioning and messaging and translate complex technical concepts into compelling business value.
  • Experience building GTM strategies and scaling a product marketing function.
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver persuasive presentations.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Bonus points for hands-on experience with video, design, or storytelling through multimedia.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
