About our Client:
Our client is building modern, secure infrastructure for business payments. They help businesses pay any supplier using cards or bank transfers, regardless of how the supplier accepts payment — removing friction from B2B payments and improving cash flow. They operate in regulated financial environments and partner with leading payment networks and banks. Reliability, security, and scalability are critical to everything they build.
About Teamified
Teamified is a talent partner helping companies build exceptional remote teams across IT, software, product, and digital innovation. We collaborate with leading enterprises and fast-scaling tech businesses worldwide to help them access world class talent and accelerate growth. With operations across the globe our mission is to make building high performing global teams simple, fast, and cost-effective. Teamified has hundreds of clients with more than 200 engineers, testers, product managers, designers, and technology experts delivering impactful solutions every day
About the Role:
We're looking for a DevOps / Cloud Engineer to own and evolve the infrastructure that powers our client’s platform. You'll work closely with product and engineering teams to ensure systems are secure, observable, cost-effective, and scalable as the platform grows. This role is hands-on. You'll be responsible for both day-to-day operations and longer-term improvements to cloud architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and security posture. You’ll take end-to-end ownership of core infrastructure components and be trusted to make architectural decisions within agreed guardrails.
Requirements
Cloud & Infrastructure
- Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS across multiple regions
- Manage complex multi-VPC architectures
- Own infrastructure-as-code using CloudFormation (primary), with AWS CDK (Python) used selectively where it provides clear maintainability benefits
- Deploy and maintain environments across development, test, staging, and production
- Manage EC2 instances, RDS (SQL Server), Redis, and Elasticsearch clusters
- Configure and maintain VPN connections and Active Directory integration (primarily for authentication and access control)
- Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery readiness across multi-AZ deployments
CI/CD & Engineering Enablement
- Maintain and improve Jenkins pipelines integrated with Bitbucket
- Support automated deployments with change-set validation and rollback strategies
- Manage deployment automation using bash-based scripts
- Coordinate deployments across multiple environments and regions
- Work with engineering teams to improve build performance, testing, and release confidence
- Help standardise environments and reduce "works on my machine" issues
Security & Compliance
- Implement and maintain security best practices across cloud and application layers
- Manage WAF (Web Application Firewall) configurations with regional and global logging
- Support compliance requirements (e.g. PCI-DSS, PSD2, data protection)
- Manage secrets and credentials using AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store
- Handle certificate lifecycle management with ACM
- Configure and maintain security groups, NACLs, and network segmentation
- Work closely with engineering and leadership on risk, audits, and incident response
Monitoring, Reliability & Cost
- Own and maintain the ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Filebeat) for centralised logging and observability
- Configure CloudWatch alarms, metrics, and dashboards
- Proactively identify performance, reliability, and cost optimisation opportunities
- Respond to incidents and lead root-cause analysis and post-incident improvements
- Monitor and optimise CloudFront distributions, S3 storage, and data transfer costs
Automation & Tooling
- Develop and maintain bash scripts for deployment automation and operational tasks
- Build and maintain Lambda functions (Python, Go, Node.js) for automation and integration
- Manage Lambda@Edge functions for CloudFront request/response handling
- Automate certificate provisioning, DNS management (Route53), and service discovery
- Create tooling for environment provisioning, instance management, and troubleshooting
- Identify opportunities to evolve existing bash-based automation into more maintainable patterns over time where appropriate
Collaboration & Ownership
- Act as a bridge between engineering, product, and leadership
- Provide guidance to developers on cloud-native patterns and operational best practices
- Document infrastructure patterns, deployment procedures, and runbooks
- Help shape the DevOps roadmap as the platform scales
- You won’t be operating in isolation — infrastructure decisions are shared with engineering leadership, and there is active investment in reducing operational load through automation
