Job Description
This role will report directly to the Creative Director and will provide day-to-day administrative support for the Carnival development team, coordinating all development related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Assistant to Creative Director & Development Team
- Organising and managing the diary of Creative Director including but not limited to; organising meetings with broadcasters, writers, agents and directors.
- Arranging any UK travel and international travel for Creative Director where required.
- Assisting with reading submissions for Creative Director.
- Inbox monitoring and archiving for Creative Director.
- Logging and processing monthly expense reports for Creative Director, Development Director and Development Executive.
- Organising and managing other meetings for development team where required.
- IT support and set-up for Creative Director and development team.
Administration
- Maintaining and updating the Carnival development slate.
- Maintaining and updating other Carnival development admin materials including but not limited to; reading logs, broadcaster logs, writers' lists etc.
- Maintaining and updating the Carnival development shared folder, ensuring documents are ordered and filed appropriately.
- Participating in team meetings and development meetings, taking notes and following up with action points.
- Participating in weekly book calls, collating and archiving material.
- Co-ordination of incoming solicited script material received by the department.
- Overseeing and assisting the Development Intern with logging and tracking submissions and ensuring submissions are responded to in a timely fashion.
- Arranging coverage of material when required. Keeping an active list of external readers on the Carnival books and managing the external readers along with the process of setting up readers with coverage.
- Overseeing and assisting the Development Intern with keeping a database of directors, writers and crew.
- Updating lists of Broadcaster pipelines and providing research where required.
- Providing day-to-day support to the Carnival development team to ensure that the office runs efficiently.
- Providing administrative support on various projects including preparing presentation materials.
- Printing, coffee runs and room preparation for writer meetings and with members of development team.
- Event planning: organising and arranging meetings externally where required.
- Proofing and watermarking scripts in development for sending out to key stakeholders/broadcasters when asked.
Creative
- Reading submissions (scripts / books / writing samples) and writing reports to pass onto development team.
- Tracking new talent (writers / directors) and circulating details of new theatre / film/ television / literature of note.
- Conducting research for the development team / writers / producers as required and helping to put together other creative documents for projects in development.

Qualifications
- Previous experience of diary management and organisation in a fast-paced office environment is essential.
- Strong PC skills with intermediate to advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Final Draft and Adobe Acrobat is essential.
- Highly organised with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to skillfully balance and prioritise work coming in across the team with excellent time-management.
- Strong sense of initiative with the ability to multitask and anticipate executive needs.
- Ability to research and source ad hoc information independently.
- Resilient and resourceful - must be able to work effectively with the minimum of supervision.
- Proactive and solution focused with high attention to detail.
- Strong sense of professionalism and confidentiality - should be used to dealing with sensitive information.
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent understanding of the TV industry, with a particular knowledge of the scripted TV drama landscape in the UK.
