About the Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst to lead data initiatives that drive operational efficiencies and informed decision-making across hospital systems and large medical institutions. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Performance Analytics, you will manage data acquisition, processing, and dissemination efforts, while working with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights in healthcare environments.

This role will involve building strong relationships with hospital stakeholders, managing a research agenda, and delivering healthcare-friendly data outputs that enhance patient care and operational performance.

This position can work out of our Hoffman Estates, IL, Charlotte, NC, or Hudson, OH offices.

What you’ll do:

1. Data Acquisition & Management:

  • Lead efforts to establish data-sharing agreements with hospitals and medical institutions.
  • Validate, ingest, and process external datasets, ensuring data quality and adherence to healthcare data sharing policies.
  • Manage a small team of data resources to ensure timely and accurate data integration.

2. Research Agenda Management:

  • Develop and oversee a research agenda focused on leveraging healthcare data to uncover operational efficiencies and revenue opportunities generated by improved medical equipment maintenance and repair operations.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to guide research initiatives and ensure alignment with hospital priorities.
  • Deploy AI tools effectively to accelerate the discovery and analysis

3. Data Output & Visualization:

  • Translate research findings into actionable insights that are clearly linked to the outcomes that are relevant for our provider customers.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and performance metrics using tools like Power BI and Excel to support decision-making across healthcare institutions.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with clinical, operational, and administrative teams in hospitals to understand data needs and ensure the practical application of insights.
  • Serve as a liaison between data teams and healthcare providers, ensuring data outputs are aligned with clinical and operational goals.

5. Program Management:

  • Lead the setup and management of a data consortium, ensuring that charters are read, approved, and effectively executed.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies around the secure handling and storage of sensitive data.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, with a focus on data generated within a healthcare environment.
  • Proven experience managing external data acquisition, validation, and integration from hospitals or large healthcare institutions.
  • Strong understanding of data sharing policies and healthcare data security & compliance.
  • Proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and Excel for data visualization and reporting.
  • Knowledgeable about working with AWS data management tools such as Redshift, SageMaker and Bedrock.
  • Experience managing research agendas and delivering data insights tailored to healthcare providers.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience leading cross-functional projects or small teams.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with clinical research or healthcare operations.
  • Experience working with AI/ML tools and integrating them into healthcare data products.
  • Knowledge of healthcare technology management (HTM), electronic health records (EHR) systems, medical device data, and healthcare regulations.
