The Data Management & Strategy Lead is responsible for leading activities to support implementation of the Data Governance Policy/Data Risk and Control framework and plays a critical role in leading activities that contribute to the definition of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Taxonomy. An ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines, along with strong interpersonal skills and programme management expertise are required.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement, enforce and improve the data governance strategy, framework and procedures.
  • Support data strategy and drive data management, validation, quality and analysis.
  • Define, monitor and enforce KPIs related to compliance with the data governance policy.
  • Lead work streams focusing on broad range of data initiatives including data requirements, issues management, Data Quality rules, lineage, and taxonomy.
  • Liaise between the Enterprise Data Office, Business/Function aligned Data Offices and other key partners in Business/Functions to progress the Data Transformation agenda.
  • Establish a level of trust and credibility by building and maintaining relationships with important partners to ensure continuous improvement, monitoring, control, and governance of data quality.
  • Lead the facilitation, coordination, and arbitration of cross-functional complex problems within / across programs and with senior stakeholders.
  • Develop content for relevant governance forums.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in data governance/strategy, data operating model practices is a must.
  • Experience in managing and implementing successful data governance/management programmes.
  • Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels.
  • Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Strong relevant experience, Banking or Finance industry preferred.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels.
  • Optimizes work processes by balancing effective / efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the “big picture” while paying close attention to detail.
  • Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them.
  • Consulting experience is beneficial, but not essential.
