Mō te tūranga | About the Role
Reporting to the Audit Director Internal Audit, the Data Analytics Audit Manager plays a key role in embedding data analytics into internal audit engagements across Westpac New Zealand.
You will work closely with auditors to understand audit objectives and risks, translating these into meaningful, explainable data analytics that strengthen audit insights and outcomes. Translate audit objectives and risks into clear, explainable data analytics that strengthen audit insights.
Plan and execute SQL‑ and Python‑based analytics (with pragmatic AI/ML‑assisted techniques where appropriate) to test control design and operating effectiveness.
Act as the bridge between auditors and analytics by confirming data availability and ensuring analysis is audit‑focused and explainable.
Contribute to core audit fieldwork and reporting, including outputs provided to senior management and the Board Audit Committee.
Track and validate audit issues through to closure by management.
Uplift Internal Audit’s analytics capability by developing repeatable, scalable analytic routines and supporting continuous improvement.
Collaborate effectively with senior, technical and non‑technical stakeholders while operating in line with Westpac’s risk, compliance and health & safety requirements.
