Mō te tūranga | About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Analyst to join our Finance Data team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is pivotal in leveraging data models and modern technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the finance function.

You will help streamline and automate core finance processes, reduce manual effort, and enable timely financial insights to support strategic business decisions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to deliver actionable financial insights.

  • Collaborate with finance stakeholders to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement.

  • Design and optimize SQL Server queries and data pipelines to support reporting and analytics.

  • Work with TM1 Cognos to manage and enhance financial planning and forecasting models.

  • Utilize data warehouse systems to extract, transform, and load (ETL) financial data.

  • Support the automation of Excel-based financial models and tools (UDAs).

  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across reporting platforms.

  • Translate complex data into clear visualizations and narratives for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Contribute to the reduction of repetitive tasks, enabling finance professionals to focus on strategic activities.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • Power BI Data Analyst Certification (Microsoft Certified or equivalent).

  • Proven experience with data warehouse architecture and ETL processes.

  • Proficiency in TM1 Cognos (preferred), SQL Server, and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).

  • Strong understanding of financial processes and reporting cycles (preferred).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • Experience in a banking or financial services environment.

  • Familiarity with agile project delivery and finance transformation initiatives.
