Olive Jar Digital works with public sector clients to design and deliver user-centred digital services that make a real impact on people’s lives. We’re looking for a talented Content Designer to join the team supporting digital teacher recruitment services.
The Role:
As a Content Designer, you will help shape digital services that support the recruitment of high-quality trainee teachers. You’ll ensure that all content is clear, accessible, and user-focused, working closely with cross-functional teams, researchers, and service stakeholders to design content that meets both user needs and service objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and maintain content for teacher recruitment services, ensuring clarity, accessibility, and alignment with user needs.
Conduct content audits and user research to identify gaps and inform improvements.
Collaborate with designers, researchers, and technical teams to develop prototypes and service touchpoints (e.g., transactional content, guidance, emails).
Communicate design intent clearly to technical colleagues to ensure accurate implementation.
Maintain and update content design histories, documenting decisions and rationale.
Support accessibility audits and help achieve WCAG 2.2 AA conformance for services.
Engage with wider professional communities to share knowledge and best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven experience as a content designer in digital/public sector services.
Strong understanding of user-centred design principles, service standards, and accessibility requirements.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for users.
Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in an Agile environment.
Familiarity with DDaT Capability Framework, Government Design System, and GDPR compliance is desirable.
