A different way into consulting - built for people, not CVs

You don’t need the “perfect background” to build a great career in consulting.

At Kainos, we believe brilliant consultants come from many different walks of life. That’s why we’ve created a career-change pathway into Workday services consulting - designed for people with curiosity, empathy, and a genuine desire to learn.

If you enjoy understanding how organisations work, helping people solve problems, and making sense of complexity - this could be your next chapter.

You’ll be working on real, enterprise-scale projects, supported by experienced colleagues, building confidence, capability, and a career with momentum.

What you’ll be doing

As a Workday Services Consultant, you’ll help shape how organisations run - supporting the design, configuration, and delivery of Workday solutions that enable better ways of working for our customers.

You’ll:

  • Work closely with customers to understand their needs and translate them into solutions

  • Shape service scope and define what “good” looks like for each engagement

  • Configure and deliver solutions that are practical, effective, and valuable

  • Learn through structured support, mentoring, and hands-on experience

This pathway is designed for you if you:

  • Have 1–4 years’ experience working with customers, clients, and/or stakeholders

  • Enjoy learning, adapting, and stretching yourself in new environments

  • Communicate clearly and confidently

  • Have experience with Microsoft 365 (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Are curious about technology, even if you haven’t worked in it before.

  • Have an analytical mindset and enjoy exploring solutions that deliver value

  • Are passionate about working with customers to deliver high-quality solutions

  • Want a career that grows with you - not one that boxes you in

Our assessment process

  • An initial conversation with our Talent Acquisition team to understand your experience and interest in the pathway

  • An Assessment Day on 17th, 18th, 19th February, where you’ll be assessed against the role requirements (not compared with other candidates)

Why make this move with Kainos?

Because changing careers is brave - and you deserve to do it somewhere that takes that seriously.

At Kainos, people come first. We invest in learning, support growth, and create environments where people can thrive. You won’t be thrown in at the deep end - you’ll be enrolled into our 12-month Development Programme with on-the-job support, structured learning and personal and professional development along the way.

If you’re ready to build something new, meaningful, and future-focused - we’d love to hear from you.

Embracing our differences

At Kainos, we believe in the power of diversity, equity and inclusion. We are committed to building a team that is as diverse as the world we live in, where everyone is valued, respected, and given an equal chance to thrive.   We actively seek out talented people from all backgrounds, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other characteristic that makes them who they are.   We also believe every candidate deserves a level playing field.

Our friendly talent acquisition team is here to support you every step of the way, so if you require any accommodations or adjustments, we encourage you to reach out.

We understand that everyone's journey is different, and by having a private conversation we can ensure that our recruitment process is tailored to your needs.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
