As a VAT Consultant, you'll provide expert VAT compliance services and advice to clients across various sectors globally. You'll monitor and anticipate VAT legislation changes, offering tailored advice to ensure clients make informed business decisions. Your role involves preparing and submitting VAT declarations, managing client relationships, and liaising with tax authorities. This position requires strong technical VAT knowledge and the ability to communicate complex information clearly. Ideal candidates are problem-solvers who enjoy research and excel in their field.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure swift and efficient VAT compliance by understanding client business flows and submitting VAT declarations on time.

  • Analyze and validate client-submitted VAT data to ensure compliance with country-specific legislation.

  • Serve as the primary contact for clients, preparing reports and advisory emails.

  • Liaise with tax authorities in countries where clients have strategic transactions.

  • Handle information requests and audits from tax authorities on behalf of clients.

  • Assist Seniors/Managers with complex client business issues.

  • Oversee VAT registration and deregistration processes to ensure compliance.

  • Develop VAT strategies for businesses and individuals, preparing them for the financial market.

  • Proactively research and update VAT knowledge databases
     

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Master’s degree in Law, Management or Economics.

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written). Other languages will also be valued in the recruitment process.

  • Professional experience of at least 2 years in a multinational company/environment.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft® Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Internet navigation and research.

Certificates and Licenses:

No specific certificate or license.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • Standard indoor office environment.

  • Long periods of sitting while working at computer.

  • Occasional long periods of standing.

  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 30 lbs.

  • Position requires regular interaction with employees and vendors both in person and via email and telephone.

  • Independent travel requirement: 5 – 10%
