Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, these services include consulting, loyalty and marketing programs, business experimentation, and data-driven information and risk management services.
Our Advisors & Consulting Services team combines traditional management consulting with Mastercard's rich data assets, proprietary platforms, and technologies to provide clients with powerful strategic insights and recommendations. Mastercard Advisors works with a diverse global customer base across industries, from banking and payments to retail and restaurants.
Our Performance Analytics consultants are data-driven problem solvers who combine technical expertise with business insight to deliver impactful solutions. They work with large and complex datasets, leveraging big data frameworks and advanced analytics tools to build robust data models. These models enable diverse analyses-from advanced analytics to predictive modeling and machine learning -helping clients unlock actionable insights. By blending strong analytical skills with innovative thinking, they transform data into solutions that drive measurable value.
Role and responsibilities
Client Impact• Support data-driven initiatives across Business Intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, and AI by building robust models and leveraging cutting-edge tools to unlock measurable client value.• Design methodologies tailored to client problem statements, applying critical thinking to account for internal and external constraints• Collaborate with Mastercard teams to understand client priorities, risks, and opportunities, ensuring alignment with business goals• Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and thought partner
Team collaboration & culture• Collaborate with senior project delivery consultants to identify key findings, prepare effective presentations, and deliver recommendations to clients• Maintain and share project resources and repositories in alignment with organizational best practices, ensuring proper version control, documentation, and accessibility for the team.• Collaborate effectively with team members to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, while independently driving analysis that supports project objectives. • Engage with the client and drive internal workstreams, contributing to effective project execution and delivery.• Contribute to Mastercard's intellectual capital and innovation agenda• Receive guidance from analytics leaders while actively mentoring junior consultants, fostering mutual growth and contributing to a high-performance culture
Basic qualifications• Graduate Engineering/Business degree with data and analytics experience in business intelligence or business translation.• At least 2 years of relevant work experience in data-driven roles.• Experience with descriptive analytics (e.g., dashboards, KPI reporting, trend analysis), predictive analytics (e.g., forecasting models, churn prediction), prescriptive analytics (e.g., optimization models, scenario simulations), or Generative AI.• Proven experience collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to achieve shared objectives.• Ability to design and implement analyses of large datasets, distill key insights, and craft compelling narratives to communicate findings.• Solid technical foundation with the ability to break down analytical problems, select appropriate tools, and apply practical experiences (SQL and Python as a must)• Advanced Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills• Ability to handle multiple priorities across diverse clients in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment• Ability to communicate effectively in English and the local office language (if applicable). Additional European languages (e.g. Spanish, French or German) highly valuable. • Eligibility to work in the country where you are applying, as well as apply for travel visas as required by travel needs
Preferred qualifications• Experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating AI/ML models• Experience in automating data pipelines for extraction, transformation, and modeling workflows.• Experience with Hive SQL and Hadoop via Cloudera CDE & CML, using Pyspark for CDE workloads and Jupyter Notebooks in CML for Python or Pyspark ML/AI development is a plus.• Experience working with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI to design and deliver insightful dashboards and reports.• Exposure to analytical modeling, data transformation, and data science workflows, with experience using Databricks and/or Cloudera AI for executing data science projects considered highly desirable.• Experience managing tasks or workstreams in a collaborative team environment• Demonstrate a curious mindset to identify problems, explore diverse ideas, analyze potential solutions, and implement the most effective approach• Relevant industry expertise• Experience developing Generative AI solutions.
