The Role

The Connected Commerce Director (12 month fixed term contract) will lead the development and implementation of innovative connected commerce solutions. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep expertise in digital commerce and a proven track record of driving business growth. Key responsibilities include strategy development, product development, client partnerships, team leadership, data-driven insights, innovation, and process optimisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and launch Connected Commerce Product for OMG:

Develop and launch OMG’s connected commerce product collaborating with the agencies central planning capabilities through the development of product, process and partnership innovation.

· Work closely with UK local market specialist teams to understand retail media on-site & off-site proposition and carve out a plan for launching a composite product.

· Develop Connected Commerce Education & Innovation Agendas

· Collaborate with Marketing Sciences/measurement Integration and lead internal teams who will support the execution of strategies.

· You will champion the importance of a data-driven strategy. Identify performance gaps, propose, and test creative solutions, and measure performance to continuously add value to the space.

· Apply insights and recommendations from proven best practices, while always considering fit and purpose for local consumers and marketplaces.

Support product development of Connected Store

To support the development of the Connected Store proposition within OMG, identifying opportunities for the advancement of partnerships to amplify our offering across all retail touchpoints.

· Work closely with our retail partners to launch and scale planning, activation and measurement opportunities across instore, onsite and offsite products.

· Work closely with technology vendors to innovate and find solutions to meet client objectives.

· Work with product specialists & vendors to gain access to relevant alpha and beta opportunities for your clients and support in designing suitable tests.

· Collaborate with product teams to provide feedback on client pain points, product performance, and ideas on improvements to offerings, operations, and processes.

Own connected commerce consultancy and strategic planning across key clients

· Embedded into agency planning teams and working in collaboration with brand, shopper and trade marketing to build out a testing roadmap and identify scalable connected learnings through full funnel activation.

· Regularly review and analyse retail data and insights to build out bespoke measurement solutions

· Consult on all media activations to ensure robust and rigorous testing is executed with commerce embedded to each stage of planning and measurement.

· Review data and tool strategy on behalf of clients identifying opportunities for efficiencies.

Skills & Behaviours:

· Experience preferably in digital media strategy, retail planning & allocation, product/project management and marketing consulting.

· Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to understand the business goals of each stakeholder and navigate through and deliver the best results.

· Cross Functional Collaboration: Ability to lead cross functionally across earned, media, shopper, digital commerce, insights, consumer relations and tech. Align social/connected commerce strategies with broader company goals. Requires engagement with internal senior levels and agency partners

· Ability to juggle priorities and communicate clearly to senior-level stakeholders across the client organization.

· Possess a high level of general knowledge of direct and brand marketing principles and experience in developing multi-channel strategies with the ability to translate complex structures into simplified frameworks.

· Have polished presentation, communication, and analytical skills.

· Strong leadership skills, with a positive collaborative attitude to make informed decisions and build strong relationships across central teams and agencies.

· Emerging Trends: Stay ahead of the latest trends, legislation, and technologies in social ecosystem. Understand what is happening externally to inform both current and future strategic choices in highly volatile environment

· Data & Analytics: Track and analyse KPIs to measure the effectiveness of social initiatives, such as conversion rates, engagement rates and ROI
