We partner with firms across financial services, MedTech, media, logistics technology, renewable energy, EdTech, e-commerce, and more. Our engineering hubs in EMEA and LATAM are full of talented professionals delivering business success and digital improvement across application development, software architecture, CI/CD, business intelligence, QA automation, and new technology integrations.

We are looking for a Cloud Data Architect to work on a project in the energy industry.

The project:

Our teammates are talented people that come from a variety of backgrounds. We’re committed to building an inclusive culture based on trust and innovation.

You will be part of a distributed team developing new technologies to solve real business problems. While you will be hands-on in implementation, you will also work closely with product teams to ensure seamless data integration, collaborating on solutions that support product needs while embedding best practices within the team.

We are looking for someone with good communication skills, ideally with experience making decisions, being proactive, used to building software from scratch, and with good attention to detail.

What you will do:

Technical Leadership & Enablement

- Facilitate architectural decisions for the data platform, collaborating with engineers to shape and implement scalable solutions -- -while ensuring the internal team takes long-term responsibility.

- Evaluate and introduce new technologies, ensuring our client remains at the forefront of data management and processing.

- Work alongside engineers to build, improve, and maintain critical data systems, providing expertise without taking sole ownership of implementation.

- Mentor and support internal teams, embedding best practices and ensuring long-term maintainability.

- Ensure seamless integration of data infrastructure with our client’s microservices, broader platform, and key business systems such as CRM tools.

- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, financial reporting standards) in data architecture design and implement best practices for data governance and security.

Data Infrastructure & Engineering

- Design, build, and evolve our client’s data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, efficiency, and maintainability.

- Define best practices for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval using AWS services.

- Partner with product teams, ensuring data infrastructure evolves to meet business and product needs.

- Leverage AWS-native tools to optimize data pipelines while ensuring cost efficiency, performance, and scalable compute resources.

- Ensure data reliability and observability, implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting for data workflows.

Data Strategy & Business Impact

- Work with the Data & Markets Analyst to ensure accessible, high-quality, and well-structured data for decision-making.

- Foster a data-driven culture, ensuring data infrastructure supports informed decision-making across the business.

- Continuously optimise cost efficiency and resource usage within AWS-native data services to maximise performance.

What you will bring:

- Extensive experience designing and implementing cloud-based data architectures on AWS.

- Strong expertise with AWS data services (e.g. RedShift, Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, Athena, RDS, EventBridge, etc.).

- Deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, and data lake/warehouse architectures.

- Hands-on experience with SQL, Python, and AWS-native data processing services (such as AWS Glue, Redshift, and Lambda).

- Strong software engineering and infrastructure mindset, with experience integrating data systems into broader applications.

- Experience working in a cross-functional, product-led environment, collaborating with product managers, engineers, analysts, and stakeholders.

- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to balance hands-on implementation with technical leadership.

What we offer:

- 100% Remote Work

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
