This role will suit someone from a Wholesale/Distribution background that is passionate about achieving personal objectives, organizational profitability and superb Customer Service.  You will have demonstrable experience managing inventory and the wider supply chain with expert product knowledge within the Animal Health industry.   You will be self-motivated and a confident decision maker and a problem solver who proactively seeks to identify process improvements and cost savings initiatives. 

About the role:

• Stock Management – Maintain fill rates above 98%, ensuring timely and efficient replenishment.

• Supplier Negotiations – Secure the best cost of acquisition by negotiating supplier agreements and sourcing special products.

• Purchase Order Management – Use the E3 system to place, reschedule, and optimise purchase orders.

• Overstock & Waste Reduction – Identify and manage overstock, preventing unnecessary write-offs.

• Backorder Resolution – Proactively prevent and resolve supply issues, working closely with Purchasing Assistants.

• System & Data Maintenance – Ensure supplier details, product pricing, and stock parameters are accurate and up to date.

• Cost Control – Manage freight costs and supplier terms to optimise the supply chain and maximise working capital.

• Process Improvement – Continuously review purchasing processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

• Collaboration – Work with operations, marketing, and inventory teams to ensure seamless product availability.

• Supplier Performance Monitoring – Develop relationships and introduce measurement tools to drive continuous improvement.

• Analytical thinker – Able to assess stock trends and anticipate supply issues.

• Organised & process-driven – Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.

• Clear communicator – Able to liaise effectively with suppliers and internal teams.

• Proficient in IT & systems – Experience using E3 or similar procurement systems is desirable.
