Job Title: Business Development Manager (Second Charge Mortgages) 
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 09.00 - 17.00 36.25 hours per week 
Salary: £dependent on experience, plus £600 a month car allowance and up to 20% bonus and benefits 
Location: Flexible – this role will support our customer base in Watford and Southampton, so commutable distance to both of these sites would be preferable

As a BDM for our specialist second-charge lending team, you will be the face of our brand to mortgage brokers and intermediaries. Your mission is to drive growth by educating brokers on the benefits of second-charge mortgages—such as debt consolidation or home improvements—and ensuring our products are their first choice for clients who aren't a fit for mainstream lending.
  
Your Impact: Building a sustainable tomorrow  

As a Business Development Manager at Tandem your focus will be on: 

  • Relationship Management: Proactively build and maintain a strong network of mortgage brokers, financial advisors, and networks 
  • Education & Advocacy: Deliver presentations and training to intermediaries on our second-charge criteria and unique selling points 
  • Pipeline Management: Act as a consultative partner, helping brokers navigate complex applications and providing solutions when deals "go wrong" 
  • Market Growth: Identify new business opportunities and meet or exceed ambitious lending targets 
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities align with FCA regulations and specialist lending policies  

We’d love to hear from you if you have: 

  • Proven track record in B2B sales or business development within the mortgage or financial services sector 
  • Strong negotiation skills, confident at presenting and public speaking, and the ability to build rapport quickly 
  • A full UK driving license is essential, as the role involves significant travel to brokerages  

It would be great, but not essential if you have: 

  • A deep understanding of second charge/secured loans and the wider specialist mortgage market Is desired 
  • Qualifications: CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) or equivalent is highly desirable but not essential
