What we are looking for

A Business Development Executive, who will be a key player in supporting our impact team, contributing directly to the company's growth and success.  An incredible opportunity for someone to combine their commercial and positive impact passions in a high-performance environment.

About us

At Seismic we have 2 key goals: to be the best place you have ever worked, and to help 10 million people join the shift by 2030.

Along with creating impact through everything we do, connecting and building relationships is a core priority for us. That goes for our relationships with our amazing clients and with our fantastic team of changemakers, made up of a strong mix of B Corp, Net Zero, Reporting and Sustainability Comms experts, throughout the UK and Europe.

We love working with our clients. From SMEs to multinational corporations, we are committed to enabling them to prosper by helping them become ever more impactful forces for good.

All that’s missing is you!
The role and its responsibilities

The exact role definition will be dependent on the desire, capability and experiences of the right person. Key responsibilities are likely to include:

    • Managing the sales inbound process including the administrative and qualitative tasks of qualifying, allocating and sometimes calling new leads

    • Prospect/Client meeting preparation including company research, agenda setting and scheduling

    • Prospect/Client meeting administration including quality note and action taking that demonstrates evidence of our clients’ varying and specific requirements

    • Proposal writing, including using existing frameworks to determine pricing and resourcing requirements

    • Client onboarding and low-risk contract management including NDAs

    • Collecting and managing client feedback, testimonials and managing client satisfaction metrics

    • Internal meeting administration including detailed note and action taking and follow-up

    • Sales reporting; proficiency in using the CRM to deliver high quality sales reports and identify insights and trends for optimisation of sales efforts

    • CRM support to sales to improve the cleanliness of data and reporting and ensure the CRM is the ‘single source of truth’

  • In addition to the above you will be expected to:

    • Support on commercial projects and initiatives

  • Coordinate and deliver (set-up rather than hosting) some virtual event formats created to accelerate the sales process

  • Work collaboratively with the marketing and event teams to deliver seamless prospect to customer journeys

About you

To be successful in this role you would need the following attributes:

  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a fast-paced sales, commercial support or similar role.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills

    • Strong organisational and time management abilities

    • Proficiency in GoogleSuite and CRM systems (HubSpot would be advantageous).

  • Attributes: Highly motivated, ambitious, commercially-driven, proactive, with a "can-do" attitude.

  • Mindset: Growth mindset, adaptable, embraces challenges, and aligned with our company values.

  • Communication: Confident and articulate, able to build rapport with clients and colleagues.

You are a team player - you like a laugh, but are not afraid to graft. You are a student of sustainability, have plenty to offer, and know you have even more to learn.

You are action-oriented, have a keen eye for detail and enjoy juggling multiple projects and priorities and enjoy just the right amount of time pressure to help keep productive and focused. You are a ‘people person’ with a knack for building relationships with a diverse group of people.

You are excited by the opportunities of working for a young, fast growing, ever evolving and purpose-driven business.

In your first 3 months you will:

  • Be introduced to your guide and mentor

  • Go through our onboarding programme with training across all our sustainability services

  • Join our fortnightly Personal Growth sessions and Friday lunch-and-learns on anything and everything to do with Impact

  • Get to know our CEO and many of our key clients very well

Working hours

We believe in flexible working hours to better suit our personal lives while being considerate of each other and our clients. We generally work office hours but trust each other to make fair decisions.

What you need to know about the Belfast Tech Scene

If asked to name the birthplace of the RMS Titanic, you might not say Belfast. Similarly, if asked to name Europe's leading destination for foreign direct investment in new software development, Belfast might not come to mind. Yet, both are true. The city has emerged as a tech powerhouse, recently ranked among the best in the U.K. for tech careers — especially for software developers. It also leads the U.K. with the highest percentage of software development jobs advertised.
