The Role
TRG Screen are seeking a Business Analyst, who will be responsible for supporting and optimising client operations across leading financial institutions. The Business Analyst will analyse data across multiple sources, execute recurring workflows, and ensure smooth delivery of insights and operational processes. This person will play a critical role in monthly reporting cycles, maintaining data quality across our tools and client platforms, developing analytical scripts in Python and SQL, and helping to identify optimization opportunities that deliver measurable client value.
Success in this role will be defined by one's ability to develop effective Python scripts and SQL queries that automate and enhance analysis and reporting workflows, build strong and trusted relationships with client technical and business teams, proactively identify cost-saving “Opportunities” in client data and present actionable recommendations, and growing market data expertise through hands-on client engagement and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
Client Management
Attend client and internal meetings, delivering clear notes, actions, and follow-ups during onboarding, with a path to leading client meetings.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and regular touchpoints.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Execute monthly reporting cycles using SQL and Python/pandas to analyze client data, track cost fluctuations, and generate meaningful insights.
Ensure high data accuracy by validating outputs through SQL queries and Python scripts and reconciling results against platform data.
Process Improvement
Develop Python scripts and SQL queries to automate repetitive tasks and enhance opportunity identification workflows.
Review client reports using our Submarine platform to uncover optimization strategies, document findings, and support client implementation of recommendations.
Document recurring processes and propose improvements to increase efficiency across the team.
Skills and Qualifications
Required
3–5 years of experience in a data-driven, analytical, or operational role (financial services, SaaS, or FinTech preferred).
Strong SQL skills for querying structured databases (PostgreSQL experience a plus).
Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation, including pandas and Jupyter Notebooks.
Advanced Excel skills for data manipulation and reporting.
Experience with data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance across multiple sources.
Experience managing recurring workflows or operational processes.
Excellent communication skills for client interactions and internal collaboration.
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
Comfort using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance productivity.
Preferred
- Experience in financial services or FinTech.
Familiarity with market data providers (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, FactSet).
Experience working with structured and unstructured file formats (.csv, .zip, .pdf) and extracting data programmatically.
Exposure to BI or data visualization tools.
Comfortable collaborating across multiple time zones, particularly with US-based teams.
