The role:

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Business Analyst to join our Communication, Media and Technology team, focusing on AI-driven initiatives within the telecommunications industry. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of business analysis expertise, data analysis capabilities, strategic thinking, strong problem-solving skills, and a passion for leveraging AI to transform the Telco landscape. This role involves gathering and analysing requirements specifically for AI projects, providing actionable insights derived from data, and collaborating with stakeholders, including data scientists and AI engineers, to drive business decisions and improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

1.      Business Analysis:

    • Collaborate with stakeholders (including product managers, data scientists, and AI engineers) to understand and document business requirements for AI projects.
    • Analyze business processes within the Telco context (e.g., customer churn, network optimization, fraud detection) and identify opportunities where AI can be applied to improve efficiency, customer experience, or generate new revenue streams.
    • Translate complex business needs related to AI initiatives into clear, actionable deliverables for technical teams. This includes defining success metrics and KPIs for AI models.
    • Develop user stories and use cases specifically for AI-powered solutions.

2.      Data Analysis:

    • Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to specific AI use cases within the Telco domain. This might include analyzing customer data, network performance data, or market trends.
    • Collaborate with data scientists to define data requirements.
    • Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings related to project performance and business impact.
    • Work with data teams to ensure data quality, accuracy, and accessibility for AI projects.

3.      Strategic Mindset:

    • Assess the broader organizational goals within the Telco industry and align AI initiatives with strategic objectives.
    • Develop business cases to support AI-driven initiatives and investments, demonstrating the potential ROI and business value.
    • Provide recommendations for AI-driven process improvements and innovation opportunities within the Telco domain.

4.      Requirements Gathering and Stakeholder Management:

    • Engage with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, AI engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to gather and validate requirements.
    • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and interviews to elicit information related to use cases, data requirements, and model deployment strategies.
    • Ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions, bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.

5.      Documentation and Communication:

    • Create detailed documentation, including business requirements, workflows, and user stories.
    • Effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience of which 2-5 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or a related role.
        • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or basic data visualization software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
        • Familiarity with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio)
        • Understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum is a plus)
        • Familiarity with machine learning concepts and terminology is a plus
        • Certification in business analysis (CBAP, CCBA) is a plus
      • Language Skills:
        • Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
        • Knowledge of French is a plus.
      • Soft Skills:
        • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
        • Strategic thinker with the ability to connect the dots across the organization.
        • Collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
        • Strong relationship skills.
