The Role

You will be joining at an exciting time, as the team prepares to scale the Tessian product following the Proofpoint acquisition. Tessian protects every business’s mission by securing the human layer.
 

We’re building intelligent security that works for human beings as they are, not how security policies would like them to be. The Tessian Cloud Email Security platform helps enterprises defend against email attacks, protect against data loss, and respond to security incidents more efficiently.
 

Using machine learning technology, Tessian automatically predicts and eliminates advanced threats on email caused by human error, such as data exfiltration, accidental data loss, business email compromise, and phishing attacks .

We’re growing and are looking for new team members to help us build something special. Having found exceptional product/market fit for our category-defining Human Layer Security software platform, we’re looking to capitalize on the huge demand for our product.

Your day-to-day
 

We‘re looking for a Backend Python Engineer to join one of the key teams behind Tessian Adaptive Email Security, protecting our customers from the full spectrum of inbound email attacks. You will:

• Collaborate with a supportive agile team to write high-quality software with clean, readable code which helps customers understand and defend against email threats

• Participate in decision-making around architectural design while reasoning about cost, scale, latency, velocity and security

• Share responsibility for our modern stack of services in production across the whole cycle from design to development, through to operational support, for millions of users

• Understand the impact of bugs on stakeholders in high-performance distributed microservice systems and troubleshoot them effectively

What you bring to the team

• Demonstrable Python ability – you’ve had your code running, delivering value and being supported in at least one real commercial environment

• Enthusiasm, positivity and a passion for learning, coupled with growth mindset

• Some experience of modern REST APIs, data streaming and database technologies

• Awareness of CICD, testing, and cloud services (eg AWS/GCP/Azure) including streaming or event-driven architectures

• Understanding of what it means to work in an agile way, collaborate with peers in all disciplines and embrace feedback
