The Talent Acquisition team at Airwallex plays a pivotal role in shaping the company’s future by sourcing and recruiting the brightest and most ambitious minds to drive our company forward. We collaborate with hiring managers and leadership teams to understand business needs and proactively find the right individuals who will contribute to our success. As trusted advisors, our team is passionate about building strong relationships with candidates and delivering a seamless recruiting experience that reflects Airwallex’s operating principles, dynamic culture and global ambitions.

What you’ll do

Airwallex is scaling our key corporate functions globally, and we’re looking for an exceptional Associate Director of Talent Acquisition to take our hiring across Sales, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Operations, Strategy, and Marketing to the next level.

In this dynamic hybrid role, you’ll report to the Global Head of Talent Acquisition and will lead and mentor a high-performing team of recruiters while directly driving some of our most critical, high-impact hires. You’ll partner closely with senior business leaders (e.g., General Manager, CFO, General Counsel, Chief Risk Officer, and other functional executives) to shape talent strategy, pilot bold new approaches, and build the world-class teams powering Airwallex’s next stage of growth.

This role is based in London.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop the team: Mentor a high-performing group of recruiters, set clear goals, and support their professional growth.

  • Partner with regional leadership: Act as the main point of contact for our EMEA General Manager and align the TA efforts with the regional business needs

  • Shape hiring strategy: Partner with go-to-market and corporate leadership to forecast needs, define talent priorities, and maintain a consistently high hiring bar through interviewer calibration and alignment.

  • Own critical hires: Drive full-cycle recruitment for senior and hard-to-fill go-to-market and corporate roles, delivering an exceptional candidate and stakeholder experience.

  • Use data to drive decisions: Track key metrics, identify bottlenecks, and continuously optimize recruiting efficiency and outcomes.

  • Enhance recruiting impact: Strengthen employer brand, refine processes and leverage tools to improve speed, quality, and candidate experience.

Who you are

We’re looking for people who meet the minimum qualifications for this role. The preferred qualifications are great to have, but are not mandatory.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Experienced leader: 10+ years in recruiting, including 3+ years leading or mentoring recruiters, with a track record of building high-performing teams.

  • Hiring expert: Proven success hiring top go-to-market and corporate talent across multiple levels, including senior and leadership roles.

  • Trusted partner & communicator: Skilled at stakeholder management, influencing senior go-to-market and corporate leaders, and communicating clearly across all levels.

  • Data-driven operator: Use metrics and insights to guide strategy, measure success, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Hands-on and strategic: Balance executing critical hires with leading the team, thriving in a fast-paced, scaling environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree.

  • Professional experience in or working within fast pace technology or Fintech industry.

  • Hiring experience across different European markets.
