What We do / The Team:

The XiP and XVA Support team is a well-established team with regional coverage in Singapore, India, Belfast and Canada. The team primarily covers application support to the Cross Asset business within Markets. Our team interfaces with a vast client base and works in close partnership with Operations, Development and other technology counterparts running the application production platform, providing quick resolutions and timely communications to their issues, and driving improvements to stability and efficiency practices to help us and the business succeed.

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Senior Analyst to be part of our Belfast team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in application support and collaboration across multiple regions. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive team performance, ensure seamless platform operations, and foster collaboration with global stakeholders

Role Overview/What will you do:

We are seeking an experienced Application Support Senior Analyst to be part of our Belfast team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in application support and collaboration across multiple regions. This role requires a strategic thinker who can drive team performance, ensure seamless platform operations, and foster collaboration with global stakeholders

  • The Apps Support Senior Analyst is responsible to partner with multiple technology teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals; identify and define necessary system enhancements; analyze existing system logic, identify problems; and recommend and implements solutions.

  • Provides expertise in area and an advanced level of understanding of the principles of apps support.

  • Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives for complex, high impact application enhancements and problem resolution through in-depth analysis and evaluation of complex business processes, systems and industry standards; documents requirements.

  • Partners with multiple technology areas and management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals.

  • Works closely with Product Owners, Business Analysts and Systems Analysts to determine and document Systems impacts and support requirements

  • Consider the implications of the application of technology to the current environment.

  • Identifies risks, vulnerabilities and security issues; communicates impact; proposes risk mitigation options.

  • Provides in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define problems and develop innovative solutions.

  • Directly impacts the business by influencing strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services.

  • Persuades and influences others through strong and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills

  • Performs other duties and functions as assigned

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Key Skills and Experience required:
 

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in IT/CS

  • Experience an Application Support role

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, great teammate.

  • Strong working experience of systems UNIX (AIX/ Linux) environment

  • Strong working experience of Databases – Mongo, Hadoop, SQL

  • Strong working experience of Cloud Computing – RedHat OpenShift, AWS EKS, etc.

  • Knowledge on Geneos ITRS monitoring would be an added advantage

  • Experience with issue tracking and reporting using tools

Any Beneficial / Nice to have skills and experience:

  • Basic Business knowledge/ understanding of financial markets and products.

  • Knowledge/ experience of problem Management Tools.

  • AI Tools
