Job Description

We are looking for a Network Engineer to provide expert support for a variety of corporate-level applications, network architecture, and RDBMS systems, specifically tailored to support the cruise line ships. This position will be full-time and remote.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for corporate-level applications used across the cruise line

  • Monitor and maintain network architecture to ensure optimal performance and connectivity for cruise line ships

  • Manage and support RDBMS systems, ensuring data integrity and availability

  • Act as a liaison between shoreside operations and shipboard IT teams to resolve technical issues

  • Develop and maintain documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures

  • Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to ensure system reliability and efficiency

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new applications and system upgrades

  • Provide training and support to end-users on application functionalities and best practices

  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed

What You'll Need

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 5 years of experience in application support, network architecture, and RDBMS systems

  • Strong technical expertise in corporate-level applications and IT infrastructure

  • Proficiency in database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL

  • Experience with network architecture, including LAN/WAN, VPN, and firewall configurations

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with shipboard and shoreside teams

  • Ability to travel occasionally to support shipboard operations as needed

  • Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle) is a plus

Preferred

  • Experience in the cruise line or maritime industry

  • Knowledge of maritime communication systems and protocols

  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions

  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
