Job Description
We are looking for a Network Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and maintenance of captive portal systems. This role requires technical expertise in network security. This position will be full-time and remote.
What You'll Do

Design and Deployment; develop and implement captive portal solutions that meet organization including integration with existing network infrastructure.

System Maintenance; monitor and maintain captive portal systems to ensure high availability and performance

Troubleshoot and resolve issues when arise

Security Management; network security and date protection

User Experience Optimization; analyze user feedback and system performance data

Documentation; system configuration, policies and procedures

Develop and maintain documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures

Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to ensure system reliability and efficiency

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new applications and system upgrades
-
Provide training and support to end-users on application functionalities and best practices
-
Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed
What You'll Need
Required
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

Proven experience in network administration and captive portal systems
-
Proficient in network protocols, firewall configurations and access control mechanisms
-
Understanding of compliance standards and regularizations related to network access and data privacy
-
Experience with network monitoring and management tools

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure
-
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with shipboard and shoreside teams

Ability to travel occasionally to support shipboard operations as needed

Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle) is a plus
Preferred

Experience in the cruise line or maritime industry

Knowledge of maritime communication systems and protocols

Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices

Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions

Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
