Job Description

We are looking for a Network Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and maintenance of captive portal systems. This role requires technical expertise in network security. This position will be full-time and remote.

What You'll Do

• Design and Deployment; develop and implement captive portal solutions that meet organization including integration with existing network infrastructure.

• System Maintenance; monitor and maintain captive portal systems to ensure high availability and performance

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues when arise

• Security Management; network security and date protection

• User Experience Optimization; analyze user feedback and system performance data

• Documentation; system configuration, policies and procedures

• Develop and maintain documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures

• Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to ensure system reliability and efficiency

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new applications and system upgrades

• Provide training and support to end-users on application functionalities and best practices

• Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed

What You'll Need

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

• Proven experience in network administration and captive portal systems

• Proficient in network protocols, firewall configurations and access control mechanisms

• Understanding of compliance standards and regularizations related to network access and data privacy

• Experience with network monitoring and management tools

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with shipboard and shoreside teams

• Ability to travel occasionally to support shipboard operations as needed

• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle) is a plus

Preferred

• Experience in the cruise line or maritime industry

• Knowledge of maritime communication systems and protocols

• Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices

Physical Demands

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions

• Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

• Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
